I can’t believe you do that beautiful woodwork and have never mentioned it! It’s absolutely gorgeous! You will have to do a few videos of you making a piece when you get everything set up. What a nice surprise. And I’m not going to lie, I was worried about Rebecca’s toes. 😂 So glad they made it safely. That was a job! Have a great day 🙂

Suggest knife handles & perhaps working with another creator or a woodmill guy for access to different wood types. Scraps to them could be projects for you. Kinda liked to see the clamps used to make the pre turned stock assemblies. Suggest this as another revenue vehicle, depending on your time/reward expenditure.

I can see a block retaining wall along the barn, planted with perennials like iris, day lilies and peonies. Some bulbs that bloom in Spring scattered throughout, and some kind of vine spilling over the side. Oh! And Hollyhocks......every barn needs traditional hollyhocks to hover over it all like a monarch of the garden!! Yours is our favorite channel. Haven’t missed any. 💕🌵az

Try to find some Barkeeper's Friend cleanser to clean up all the stainless steel. I've used in many restaurant kitchens during my time as a sous chef. It will even work to clean the poly carb cutting boards. Think about finding or buying some thick rubber floor matts for the meat processing area. Your feet, legs and back will thank you.

@trentencaskey7641

Was just going to say the same thing. You've already done the hard part...letting the floor cure for a month. Now a couple of coats of sealer will do wonders. Not only will it help in cleanup of diesel fuel/hydraulic oil/antifreeze/etc., but it will help reduce the odor retention of any spills you'd have.

Evan, I'm new to your videos but have watched quite a few in a short time, esp. the barn build. Your wood working is an inspiration to me and my husband, who I insisted watch the end about your segmented wood work. It is absolutely beautiful! My husband is 71, I am 66. Together we gutted and rebuilt our home over 20 yrs.which still has some work to do....but he has put in beautiful oak stairs and woodwork and has done some other projects as well... such as his model ship building and ships in a bottle. I so want him to return to this wonderful talent, and you and Rebecca remind us of our former days. Hold on to your dreams you'll have that new lathe some day!. I helped my husband with many things just as your wife helps you. You have a lively homestead. Thanks for sharing the cost of everything. Many people feel that is rude to ask, but to share... you help others know how the cost can change and estimates aren't always reliable in the end (fill dirt) Loved the Aussies checking out their new pad. LOL We are also an Aussies family. Good luck to you both!

Very nice woodworking! Looks like a great way to make objects. Have watched some videos on wood-turning and wish I was able to do it. A great hobby and very satisfying as well. Forgot to add that I love the looks of a cupola on the pole barn. Good idea. I bought a large galloping horse weather-vane for our 2 1/2 car garage , but it started to rust a little, so we took it down, I used silicone caulk to fill in all the cracks and seams. Then after sanding it down a bit, spray painted it with black Rusteolum and my husband extended the directional arrow to increase its ability to catch the wind and it now looks and moves much better.

Walnut is a particular favourite of mine, but I think it will be many, many years before your walnut tree plants are ready for the lathe.

Your woodworking skills are top notch. Those are beautiful pieces. Looking forward t the next installment on the pole barn. Wow! You guys always have something to do! You do not know how blessed you are to have those things to do; and to physically be able to do them. I keep saying this, but your backs are catching it. And for all I know, you might have a dozen Teeters in your house. But most likely ... not. I played in bands on weekends for 35 years and cut a LOT of yards across my working life along with all kinds of other things. The bands required lifting and moving heavy guitar amps and PA cabinets out of trunks, back seats and truck beds and into venues and up steps and stairs and onto stages. Last band I was in, I used an amp that weight some 70 pounds. At the end of the night, in order to get it through the crowd and out the door, I had to put that bugger up over my head and carry it to the door, where I dropped it to my chest and opened the door and put it back up over my head and carried it to my car. Today, I have five blown discs and can only walk in serious pain with two trail sticks. I finally had my first successful Teeter workout today, after two failed attempts due to some serious muscle stretching pain (ultimately used a NeuroMD modality to move muscles around, and that was not without pain!). I sincerely do not mean to be pushy, but the smart thing to do, is use a Teeter inversion table (there are others, these are the best made) BEFORE you mess up your back and have to endure the pain I have been suffering. I admire people who work hard. I do not want to see you watching the grass grow because you are in so much pain. Hope that helps. And oh, yeh ... Jesus saves!

I'm envious of your wood working tools. I had a very nice wood shop made up mostly of Delta tools before getting married and moving into a house with no room. I had the Dellta Unisaw 10" cabinet saw with a 8' side table I made and the other machines like yours, mostly Delta. I did enjoy having a dust collector which does so much to keep the shop clean. I really like the pieces you made and I experimented with super glue to turn wood across the end grain which gave the wood so much depth. I hope we get to see much more of your work now that you have a shop to do it in. jack

Delta used to make some awesome tools back in the day - craftsman made some fairly good one's as well. That Delta drill press is awesome! We had to adjust our shop build because of the insane lumber prices. We are going to do all of the concrete work first and wait for the wood prices to drop. Wood is four times what it was when we did our last build two years ago, and we just can't afford it. 😐
