You could use some of the concrete blocks/pieces to use as a base layer to raise up your ramp to your bank barn or if you have water/streams eroding soil, use to stop/slow erosion.

Will the steers damage the persimmon tree in front of the entrance to the barn? Now may be the time to start looking for a second or third hand skid steer as well. Agree that concrete will make a great base for your gravel drive up as well. Don't forget the drainage at the base of the opening.

Evan and Rebecca...I have so enjoyed watching from your start building your Countrymark Log Home. Watching the tons of work you have done to improve your land, the pole barn, etc. is just very nice. You must have Dutch, and, or German blood as I do, and I am as driven of a person as you both! A Perfectionist of sort! I'd like to see a video of just how your house has weathered since the build. Because of my health mostly, and after watching your log home build I sold my retirement home I only built six years ago in North Fort Myers, Florida, and moved back to my native Michigan with plans to put up a Countrymark Log Home. We just moved in October to Holland, Michigan, and are searching for land between here and Saugatuck. Sometime within the next two months we are going to drive to Countrymark's office Indiana to discuss plans, etc. Thanks to you I researched six log home builders in Wisconsin., Indiana, and Michigan and found Countrymark to be my preferred choice. I wanted to send you a recipe for your hash browns, but been way to busy, so look for it coming your way in our slow USPS! Thanks Again. Dale A McAllister

I think I would give some thought over the winter to how you might excavate some of the dirt in the ramp area and filling in with the broken concrete as a base for the gravel. Otherwise, your gravel will disappear over the years into the soil.

In stead of leaving the old wall in the woods, i suggest you dig a few feet down in front of the opening, dump the old wall in there and then grade it up with the gravel, or use the old wall as filler next to the pole barn.

You're doing a pretty nice job lot of hard work Rebecca swings a pretty mean sledgehammer I've been following you on your videos whenever I see a new one I'd also like to add I had the same hardship happened to me on my Hayfield we have 80 acres we lease out I have 11 acres in front of my house which doesn't belong to the 80 but it is in my deceased father's name and just like you they lease the property and they came in and sprayed my field about 15 years ago it took me approximately 2 weeks to clean all the Autumn olives out of it to make that field because it was in the set aside program now it is all overgrown again and I have to go back at it and clean it all back up I didn't care so much for help from the Farmer that had it sprayed but I do have a small inheritance coming and I am going to bring that field back to life once again that's what I was raised to do and that's what my father did his whole life I'm not a young fellow like you but I'm going to do it and I don't have the modern machinery I have to start out piece by piece I do like your videos I'm close to 60 now but I'm ornery I intend on doing part of the field to Hay part of the field to corn and part of the field to pasture thanks so much for inspiring me not to give up on the way I was raised and the love for what I like to do and my dad lived his whole life that way but I'm not going to milk those damn cows what a pain in the butt
