Evan, I noticed you have a lot of loose hay and hay left over from cleaning the animal pens. I think if you got a good size chipper shredder you could run all that through it and increase your compost production by a bunch. Just a thought I realize you have a full plate all the time but in the long run it should be very beneficial 😉👍🇱🇷😊

That is one job I miss cutting and raking hay at my grandparents I would cut it with a sickle mower and rake with a PTO driven rake I would rake the hay then some else would round bale it then we would load them up on a couple different trailers and haul them to the house but they didn’t have animals they sold the hay
@sandratalbert9578 Жыл бұрын
Nice to see you use the smaller version of the TYM tractor. Wonder what the max lifting capacity is. Sure handled those round bales easily. Glad to see you got all the hay undercover before rain shower. Interesting to see smaller tractor easily got the one feeder into the back of the barn. 👍👍👍

We use spread rock salt on every layer on bales we stack especially when in a barn salt draws moisture should be questioned but also makes cattel drink more when it's cold insure that they drink so not get bound up from eating only dry hay

Ya gotta watch those round bales ....sometimes they try and escape. My son in laws neighbors switched for square bales to the full sized round bales. It's pretty hilly here in Eastern Washington. One evening when they were baling on the side of a hill the wind picked up and sent one 2 tenths of a mile down hill through a neighbors vinyl fence and through a big picture window in a neighbors house.....Opps....hate it when that happens 😳
@niklaseriksson3343 Жыл бұрын
Now that you guys have two tractors with frontloaders, a 2nd bale spear would be pretty handy. Have one tractor in the field to load bales with and the other at the shed to unload them. Would save you quite some time not to have to walk back and get the tractor to unload.
@dwightl5863 Жыл бұрын
Seems to me pulling the wagon out with the loader tractor in the first place would be the way to do it.

@AutoCrete Жыл бұрын
@Bowhunters Actually unless you live in a climate that does not freeze, water is a poor choice for tire ballast. 'Way back when' chlorine was used but had a tendency to ruin rims if it leaked. Sugar beet derivatives are now common being 30% heavier than water with a -40 freezing point. Also not nearly as corrosive and/or toxic to soil if it leaks. I still feel sorry for that poor little tractor though.
