I cut a piece of pvc pipe to the length I want my t-post to be out of the ground. Then slide it over the t-post and drive it till it’s even with the top of the pvc pipe. Perfect height every time.

The pond in that scene in beginning of video where you were feeding the ducks, reminded me of a painting from Monet! It looked beautiful with the duckweed on it. I know the duckweed is annoying but there for a few seconds it was a very peaceful scene. Thank you for this video today!

A tip for post driving. I took a center punch and made a ring of indentations around the outside of the post driver where the top of the post will be. That way I can measure without taking off the driver.

Goats? Instead of mechanical mower. Just doing some “Monday morning” farming from the coach. Best wishes in your endeavors. My aunt and uncle (Merle & Martha Harrel) started the Chestnut Festival in St Francisville, Illinois around 1974? 1975? (not sure it's still celebrated). Big chestnut fan. Prayers and positive vibes.

You can use the post pounder to lift the post. Place the pounder at an angle with the hole up next to the post. Manipulate the post and pounder to get the lip of the pounder on a post notch. A steeper angle is better. Then pull the post to "lift" against the pounder. Im sure there are KZbin vids that show this in action.

Have been following your fence build. I looks smart, strong, economical, and long lasting. Growing up we had chestnut trees around our home on 2-acres. In the Fall my dad would take the family trout fishing on a nearby river. His truck had a v-8 engine. He'd place a dozen+ chestnuts on the engine manifold. By the time we got to the river (think cold weather) the chestnuts would be warm and ready to eat. Fishing wasn't always very good but the chestnuts never let us down. 👍👍👍

Evans you might want to cut a little slit, about 1/2 inch parallel between top and bottom, cuz they have a tendency to pop/explode....the hard shell holds the moisture in. That's what we do especially on the store bought since they're a lot larger.

Regarding the mower, in my experience working on mowers, choking the engine to make it run is usually a carburetor issue. There is a chance that debris has gotten in the bowl, and clogging the jets is why it was intermittent. That looked like a kawasaki engine based on the air cleaner. If the problem returns, I would pull the carb and clean it. Side note.... I only run premium gas in my small engines to prevent the chalking in the carb bowl that occurs when they sit unused.

Evan, have you thought about a tractor steering knob for your tractors and polaris. I was going to suggest that when you were plowing your field with all the turn arounds. Glad the chestnuts are falling, been a few years of watch your hard work pay off on them.

I love roasted chestnuts!! Here in NYC every Christmas the streets of NY are filled with the smell of chestnuts roasting by street corner vendors. I've heard of people making stuffing with chestnuts. When you go to roast them make sure you make a slit on the edge to keep them from popping open in the oven. 350 degrees for 20 minutes or more depending on size.

Plant persimmon trees to attract deer. Plant 3 trees in each hole. Let the trees grow for 3 years and then cut down the 2 slowest growing trees. This way odds are a tree will survive where you want it to be planted. The trees are low-cost or free If you propagate your own from local trees.
@stevenwimmer5002Ай бұрын

Maybe check the fuel tank vent on the zero turn, that’s another common cause of intermittent fuel starvation issues.

Hi from New Zealand. You've had a few "wins" ... brace capping off ceremony, lawnmower & chestnuts.
@TimothyRadachiАй бұрын
In my opinion chestnuts are far too valuable to be fed to swine or deer! You will get more bang for your buck by selling them around the holidays. Great in chestnut stuffing in that Thanksgiving turkey. If you want to feed hogs and deer gather up as many acorns as you can, they are free if you have access to oak trees. Hopefully chestnut blight is not prevalent in your neck of the woods.

Speaking from experience after you get done running your field fence, it's a good idea to run a strand of barb wire above the field fence so the cattle don't ruin your fence if they press down on it with their head

My zero turn had a very similar problem. After changing several parts I finally found a dead bee in the fuel tank. Apparently it would get stuck in the pick up tube now and then.
@jonathanmcelravy8608Ай бұрын
Probably not your problem, but I change the fuel filter on all my equipment when I get the covers off. A quick look at the old filter will tell you if you are picking up crud from the tank. If it picks up a lot, you need to flush your tank. But, what do I know.
