Evan, I think it is an unwritten rule(at least for me anyway) that when you are mowing through the woods, driving through woods, moving material next to your house, or whatever general job you are doing with your tractor and hit a tree or post or wall etc... that you holler "TREE, POST or WALL!" When it happens, as long as you yell it out, you are not held responsible for damages! 😂😂😂 Im so glad i am not the only person who has learned this growing up. 😊 Also, talking to and for our animals is required when you have a farm, so glad to see you do that as well. By the way, your cow loves you so very much. IMO, i think her helping you was one of your better videos, i loved it. Keep up thw great work.

Depending on the size of a washout, by placing an old large round bale in the lower end of the washout, you would be amazed at how quickly the washout will fill in. Give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Hey Evan! You could do a green clip on some of the forage you have stock piled. We do similar in the dairy industry all the time! Just mow it and haul it to em. Imagine it like a non fermented haylage. It’d definitely save you some hay and we know they’d love it. Not to mention it could be a fun little video

What would he use to pick it up efficiently? Just curious, not picking at the idea. I can't imagine the baler would appreciate soaking wet grass, and that is the only thing I can think of that he has to pick up grass.
@tanneradams20 Жыл бұрын
@@--_DJ_-- rake it into a big windrow and use the grapple. The thing with green chop is you don’t want to get a lot. When I’ve done it it’s only for a day or two worth of feed at a time. Biggest difference is we actually use a chopper, imagine a giant lawn mower that’s pulled behind the tractor. Then that blows it into a wagon.
@tanneradams20 Жыл бұрын
@@--_DJ_-- in his situation it would be more of an occasional treat rather than a replacement or supplement to hay.

99% of people who operate brush cutters run them at "shave" position - which is wrong. So glad to see you make the adjustment back to factory. 6 to 8" is where you want to be for healthy native turf. Remember that when you want to knock the top off some undesirables in your pastures. Native grasses do not like to be shaved.

Evan, you should consider taking the loaders off pf your tractors more regularly. It should only take about 5 minutes to take off and for putting back on. They cause alot of wear on your tractor when you are not needing them. Its also good to exercise doing so so when you need if off for a repair you know it can be done easily.
@billbray8797 Жыл бұрын
Evan now you need a side by side for the new trails. It would also come in handy for use on the farm.

Cut some of the grass and pick it up with the grapple. See if the animals will eat it. I know a farmer that would cut 'winter' grass off a pasture he land leased because he couldn't move the flock of sheep 3 miles. They ate it and after they finished it he would go back and get more while waiting for the pasture he wanted to move them to recouped. Where there is a will there is a way. I would use the sickle bar mower. Take a swipe... And if they eat it take another swipe when you need it.

Totally agree with you on being willing to pay a little more to get something from a place you know will service what they sell. I got a Bad Boy brush cutter and box blade with my tractor and am very happy with them. They are made here in AR and is surprisingly very beefy stuff compared to what you get from most equipment manufactures. Unlike the grapple that I have (same as yours). lol....

What you need is a mulcher on the front and just Mulch all that undergrowth down in preparation for spring. It will Mulch trees, shrubs, vines, leaves and grass! Don't you have a cycle bar mower or something for cutting grass and hay? Cut the grass and take it back to the corals! That way you are grooming the field and feeding the animals at the same time!😊

Zero turn would be torn up by the limbs and stuff in the forrest area. Zero turn is $5000+ in price. Brush mower is $1800 and is substantially stronger and heavier duty than the zero turn. The right tool for the job is the brush mower and tractor.

Hey you be careful hitting those trees with your tractor. All it takes is one dead top tree and you could be killed! You don't look up much when doing that because it's so dang tight maneuvering and your focus is downward. A dead limb could get you and you never would know it. Stay safe my friend. Murfreesboro, TN
