“Just listen to the old Pork Chop Express & take his advice on a dark and stormy night all right? When some 8 foot tall maniac grabs your neck and taps the back of your favorite head against the back of a bar room wall and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you, “Have you paid your dues?” Well you just stare that big sucker right back in the eyes and you remember what old Jack Burton always says at a time like that. Have you paid your dues Jack? Yes sir, the check is in the mail.”

This movie and song take me back to a simpler time from my childhood, where giant sentient robots could talk and change into vehicles, animals, and household items, the secrets of the universe were hidden away in a skeletal themed castle in the center of the very cosmos, and more than just the day was saved by America's best and brightest military officers/experts. A time where even a malfunctioning and clumsy cyborg detective could still foil the criminal masterminds, where a band of survivors from a planetary apocalypse followed by the near genocidal holocaust of their race during mass exodus, could stand up to the most ancient of evils, and where cowboys and outlaws could just as well be found in outer space as they could in the days of the old west. This was the eighties, my friends, let the good times roll.

@@martinhudecek8886 If this song doesn't provide a religious experience for someone, there's always the theme song to any Japanese game show ever created. Talk about a heavenly melody... thunderous kazoos, crashing symbols, keyboard sounds that were only ever used for loudest Atari Games. Getting all the way to the end of a Japanese game show is the same as a strobe light in the men's room of a very popular gay bar... Messy, scary, and thrilling when you can get all the way to the end without being covered in goo.
