Haha that's funny. Good news is you can always changed it. Yeah we build every van that way either it's out the back door or the slider. It's really nice when you are at the beach too you can spray all the sand off your feet.

Another great projects y'all! Very nice and clean in there. I'm thinking about building out a camper van and want something that's AWD or 4WD ... any suggestions on a good van to buy? thanks!

Hey dude! As far as AWD the only options for larger vans are Ford Transits and they can be expensive because they are relatively new to the market. You can get the transits converted to 4x4 via a Quigley conversion but this is about 10k. Other 4x4 options are once again pretty expensive when it comes to tall top which would be the 4x4 sprinter. If you were looking for smaller vans there are GMC Savana Vans that are 4x4 as well as ford e-series vans these get pretty bad gas milage though. Then there is the much smaller but pretty capable Chevy Astro Van. Honestly we usually don’t really recommend 4x4. Of course it’s awesome to have but most of the time if you get a van with high clearance like a sprinter or ford transit you can get to most of the places you would want to go. I’m the case of snow and ice we’ve just used chains and in sand lowering tire pressure works amazing. Good AT tires go a long way too. But in my opinion Sptinters are the best vans. They are diesel have high clearance and are built to last ours had 230k miles on it and it’s pretty freaking reliable. Yes it does cost more on the maintenance end but it will last longer and get better gas milage so that shouldn’t stop you. They have also been making these van in Europe for a long time. If you can find a sprinter 2008 or older with low milage that’s the sweet spot. It was before the added DEF systems and other complex computer issues that seem to give people a lot of problems. Stoked to see what you do!

Yeah it could. These people at the DMV don't know anything about Vans and RVs. It's worth a shot. I'm interested in this fan design.

They are pretty solid much more reliable than the Ram Promaster. The Sprinter will last the longest out-of all the cargo vans unless you get really lucky and get a powerstroke diesel transit
