Van Life Essential Supplies! Everything you need to build out a van amzn.to/3TwM1CN Alternative dwellings are great when it's your choice to choose to live that way, but do you ever wonder why less of us are able to buy a traditional home? The answer simply is currency debasement. The answer more deeply is answered in my new podcast kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIvXeGiXfdllZrssi=7o2YPFRt4QLy0A7i

Safe sailing! Please, be sure to train kitty to wear a life jacket with flexi-flag and keep it on her/him all the time. I sailed for years with a Yorkie and a Maltese, and their life jackets came in handy more than once! I trained them to swim on command by saying, "Swim" every time they were in or above water and doggie paddled [even the bath tub]. That way, when they did fall overboard, they knew exactly what to do. Those were awesome times!

Thank you, thank you for sharing your experiences in living in an RV with a CAT. I love cats. I used to have a cat just like that one when I was a little girl. Yes, living in an RV full time has advantages and disadvantages. By being patient, you can save money until you think that it is time to settle down in a home. It is a lot better than having monthly bills every month. I wish both of you good luck with your adventures traveling and gaining experiences in every place you visit. If you guys ever come down to SouthWest of Arizona, please keep in touch with me. I love to meet you. Take care of each other and your Cat.

Some folks drill lots of tiny holes through the solid sleeping wood surface so moisture can be released and the mattress can breathe, make the hole far enough apart to keep the wooden board strong. A friend told me about it many years ago, it works well.

There is a product called "Damp Rid" for RV and boats. I'm in Houston TX and find it at Lowe's and Home Depot. I have a 40 foot shipping container for storage and the condensation just dripped off the ceiling. This solved the problem. Happy trails!

Thanks for posting. Love how honest and genuine you both are about your experience thus far, not just about the logistics and functionality of the actual space, but of two humans and a cat functioning in that space. It's 2 yrs later, but your home reminds me of mine. I've been living in a small camper for the last 18 mo and I still love it. It's beautiful, but I have some things I want to do with it. I've been in the back corner of my good friend's house, and since I travel for work, I enjoy the security that comes with that and it's a big yard with lots of room. I also have a big orange kitty I adopted, so Oliver along with my small pupper Benjamin, have the perfect size home for us. I hope you've adjusted well to yours. 😊

I really appreciate it when people share all aspects of mobile life. I can relate to all of these things you are talking about. I used to run a carnival and I had an older class a (really beat up, not mine, I just lived in it) and I pulled rides with it, then I bought my brother's 16x8 trailer which I pulled with the class a. I was so much happier living in the little trailer! It was a 1973 grizzly. It was in mint condition and everything worked perfectly! I had a nice, tiny bathroom of my own...I had hot water 🤩, I was happy and comfortable. The things you take for granted, you don't realize until you don't have them. 🌞🚙

I may have commented previously. I love how you renovated this Toyota RV. We have a 1992 Toyota Winnebago Warrior that we bought from an Ebay seller for $11,000 and at face value it looked great but the drive home indicated it needed a lot of work! Now we are in the process of replacing the fuel pump in the gas tank along with other repairs I must make prior to selling it to the next proud owner. We have since upgraded to a 2017 Coachman Orion so our Toyota is surplus to our needs. I'll probably add a TV, inverter, and a few other upgrades to ours before listing it for sale. I got some great ideas looking at your video that I will probably use for ours. Great video by the way! We live in West Melbourne Florida.

Hi from the uk guys, I have a small 1994 Classic motorhome (which is just another way of saying old) which I am getting ready to travel in part time. It is harder I think, to bring an older vehicle up to date than to start from scratch with an empty van. But they do have such character. Enjoyed your blog, Good Luck and have fun on your travels.

I laughed so hard when you said that living in the RV vs. the apt. you never get bored because you are too busy with all the problems lol. And you both laughed about it, I thought it was just so funny and it's great that you can laugh about things like that. Hang in there, I'm sure things will get better in time. Remember to always communicate, it is so very important in a relationship, and don't give up your dreams. Yeah its a good setup for two people this is the smallest foot print and the least smallest size i would recommend. The Toyota 22RE is a super realible engine and platform. You can add more power to the engine with headers, Intake and some simple bolt ons. So far I think you have quite a setup. I would try to add racks on top of the RV for added Storage space and that would be it.

I recommend the Exped Mega Mat Duo for a mattress. It’s a bit expensive but it won’t mold and the insulation is R 9.5! It’s incredibly comfortable as it’s a foam self inflation with a great pump to dial the firmness perfectly. We slept near Mt St Helen in the early spring, tent camping, and we were very warm and comfortable. Buy it at REI do you get a rebate.

Having power-water-sewer, really helps, and can feel much more comfortable, and save a lot of time. Also, low cost RV parks, end up costing LESS, than starting the rv every day, and moving the vehicle... which we all know, the vehicle has to be moved OFTEN.

If UR Lucky enough 2 have a. bthrm sink....USE IT...4 hand washing and teeth brushing, face walking. etc.All that junk U keep in it. now can be moved to a hanging basket or bag 2 get it up, organized and out of the way 2 make your A.M./P.M. hygiene and beauty routine easier. From personal experience....try 2 avoid the temptation 2 use the bthrm as storage.....U will enjoy your. bthrm and how much easier it makes your life. The open shelving is great 4 BOOKS and plants: The side that has easier access is a great kitty-hangout too.😸

Thanks for the suggestion, we have actually cleared up the bathroom sink and those items have found their place. We find we still don't use it and just resort to the kitchen because it's bigger and much more open and comfortable

I have one of these and I was just living in it for five years, and if you cook a lot I have a great tip if you have a two part sink. The gray water often builds up and sometimes especially in summer can stink really bad, this is regardless of what food you eat. So I rigged mine for one of the sink drains to just drop down under the vehicle, and actually it really is not polluting or making a mess as you might think. It generally just runs into the gutter, and let me tell you, after ten years of living in a Toyota RV before, I can tell you this trick is a HUGE plus! You don't have to run around just to empty your gray tank, never had a complaint, no more stink bomb gray tank, and really it just looks like maybe AC drip or possible radiator leak, but if you put the drain exit in the middle under the vehicle no one really sees it or knows, and it it's just water and food particles. I cooked big pasta dishes all the time with huge amounts of boiling water dumped right on the street where people live, but never had a problem or any big mess on the street. And for black tank, I just installed a lever under the parking brake, take it up to sixty on the freeway, and the mix of water, shit, and soggy toilet paper just blasts out in such a fine spray no one knows! Sorry, I, couldn't resist it.

Interesting idea, I might have something like that if I find the grey water tank to become an issue,
