I saw Garth Brooks perform this song in the early 90's at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry at one of his earliest shows after his induction into the Opry. When he struck the first chord of the song, dozens of women rushed to the front of the hall to stand at the foot of the stage...and his performance brought down the house. Of all the many acts I've seen over the years, from Rock to Country to Folk, I feel the most lucky to have seen the performance of this one song.
