That song was actually done by Tanya Tucker but she never released it on radio so Garth Brooks cut it and made it a hit then a few years later Tanya Tucker released her version of it

"Cocaine" by Johnny Cash, "That Georgia Sun is blood red and going down" by Tanya Tucker and "The Night the lights went out in Georgia" by Reba are the ones that readily come to mind. His truck was buried in the local motel. The desk clerk said he saw it all real clear, he never hit the breaks as he was shifting gears. Mama was in the motel with her beau. Papa ran the truck right into the motel room killing Mama. My hubs was a trucker for years. It's not easy having them gone for weeks at a time. BUT they're doing a hard job, being away from their families too, trying to provide for them. Sure we have Skype now and Facetime, but back when the song was written, those things didn't exist. Hell, cell phones were just starting to become more common.
