"Next Level" is a classic early Aespa song with the multiple abrupt musical shifts. I find it too jarring for my taste, but I appreciate the talent of all of the girls. Yeah this is by far their messiest song. Too all over the place. I remember when it first came out majority of international did not like it cuz it felt like three to four different songs put together but it was literally the opposite in Korea. In Korea it blew up, went viral won many awards and got banned in some Korean schools since it was exam season at the time but kids were constantly singing this song making videos since it was so catchy. Lol it’s funny thinking back. A lot more international fans like Next Level now, it got stuck in their heads. For me, I just love the choreography but it’s still my least favourite Aespa song.

OH MY GOSH YES- I love this song so much it's not my favorite personally but again I love it, but dude the world is going crazy because when it came out it was really hated and now it's one of the most loved (it's definitely a grower) but yes this song is the definition of OVERWHELMING! It's overwhelming but amazing also y'all at 3:08 this had me dying because that is nothing compared to the "Beat drop" I also just have to say Ningning with the red hair is LETHAL that was not necessary, Winter with that Yeah high note had me dead, and then Giselle and Karina rapping was just everything! Han's right, among all the kpop groups aespa's the group that actually takes their concept very seriously because they have a storyline they follow in all of their comebacks and it's their entire identity. Think of them as characters from a show or a comic, but it's like a musical. You will definitely understand the story and their background after watching the first episode of SMCU. I'm really excited to see you react to it.

I cannot think of a group other than aespa whose storyline is seen in every comeback they've ever done and is seen in their MVs, their lyrics, and even have 'mini films' about it. They created an entire universe for it, they released a list of words used in that universe, etc. No other group does it to this extent and that was the point I'm making. Hence the "very". If there is another group like aespa with this much worldbuilding surrounding their concept, I'd be happy to learn about them

@@guido6006 just because you haven’t seen a group do it, doesn’t mean that they haven’t. take ateez for example. every single one of their videos and lyrics have something to do with their lore. They’ve had a series where at the end of each video it talks about a members backstory which has to do with LORE. They’ve showed us so much of it but it hasn’t even scratched the surface of what they’ll release in the future. There is much more I can talk about in regards to their lore but i wont as this video isn’t about them. And this is not me crapping on aespa. Their lore IS amazing. But you can’t say that they’re the only one that has that.

But just because I think that about aespa, doesn't mean I'm looking down on other groups and their lore. EXO's, Loona's, etc, I know them and I like them. It's not about "being the best" it's more me being excited that there's a group that does lore like this that it's already almost a show.

Lol loved the reaction! Yeah aespa's from SM Entertainment, which is easily the most experimental K-pop company (and by far my fav). They take huge risks with their sound and concept, and imo, more often than not it pays off. Honest to god they shaped my music tastes so much to the point where I find a lot of "non-weird" songs boring now :/ Anyway looking forward to your deep dive! and tbh I wouldn't get caught up in the lyrics of the MV. It's pretty impossible to understand on its own (gotta watch their lore stuff).

Basically.. every person who has a presence online has an avatar (ae). The 'ae' is an individualistic being formed by everything you post about yourself online. You can interact with you 'ae' through the SYNK process (which is shown better on the SYNK SMCU videos, Karina's especially). SM announced aespa as a 8 member group with 4 humans and 4 digital members: ae Karina, ae Winter, ae Giselle and ae Ningning. Tho by this point this 8 member concep is extremely theoretical.. thank God. Aespa's lore is awesome but it doesn't work as well if you're way too literal about it, bc the members are actual people and not only characters.
