Except there's already an underground system for the "unfortunate" excess population. They don't get sunlight and most of them are poor and malnourished. (Its also where Levi was born) And even if they had a tall tower to see outside, they couldn't have seen the colossal coming so.. All that being said...I liked steph's energy for trying to find solutions from the get go.

At 4:28:04 the patch that Levi gave the solder was not actually Ivan’s. It was Petra’s patch that Levi took for himself earlier in the episode when looking at her body. He gave it to the soldier, and lied, trying to give him some form of comfort from losing his friends. It just shows how deeply caring Levi truly is.

Fun fact about why the titans look so disturbing to us (no spoilers, this is about the art). Apparently the artist was accosted by a violent drunk person, but they didn't speak the same language. Guy was freaked out about how he couldn't de-escalate the situation. So the artist drew the titans to try to capture that feeling of something that looks familiar but is also utterly indifferent and unsettling.

The aberrant titans just means they are different. For example the one that ate Thomas was an aberrant, because it was jumping, which the normal titans does not. The one walking on all fours in episode 17 is also an aberrant, since normal titans usually don't. Aberrant just refers to the abnormal titans that doesn't follow the "logic" of the normal ones (such as they simply go for humans and no real direction or such).

AOT is one of those rare shows where when you watch the first season, you won't understand certain scenes symbolising something important. However future seasons (S3 and S4) would later give clear context on what those scenes really meant thus making us viewers want to watch the show all over again but through a different lense on what those heavy symbolised scenes really meant which would later blow your mind on what it really meant as opposed to what you thought it initially meant. And there are A LOT of those scenes in AOT symbolising something deep and important (plus some even give spoilers on what's next to come). It truly mind blowning how the author of AOT was able to do this so well.

Really liked Stephs theory on the heat and crystalization. The reason for differing command structures in the military versus a corporate structure is that the military deals with life and death situations and generally stakes that involve the safety of many civilians.
