the person who invented the gender reveals has later spoken out about how she doesn’t agree with it anymore. When she held her gender reveal it was because she had suffered several miscarriages, so the gender reveal was only to celebrate that she had a living baby, but it’d be weird to have an “my baby is alive” party. Her child has later come out as non-binary and she supports them a lot, and now she speaks out against gender being central. just a little backstory

@LouLa-Rae Barnard 1) I know that women go through menopause. I'm not stupid. I know about female biology. 2)some women do not have periods because they are trans. This can't be disputed because its a fact. The existence of trans women is NOT misogynistic.
@allanagiles94704 жыл бұрын
@LouLa-Rae Barnard unless they are extremely ignorant or a child, I think everyone knows that females go through menopause. I don't see that this is the main issue of this conversation. I know that trans women are not biological women. I know that they do not menstrate. This does not mean that they aren't women. Once again, the existence of trans women is not misogynistic. That deserve to be able to live how they choose, just as you or I can. There have been plenty of studies into the trans brain, and clearly show that trans people do, indeed, exists. You are the one with ideologies, not me or the trans community. As for calling me a "narcissist ass," if this comes down to insults, I can be a lot more imaginative. Lets keep this to a civil discussion (despite the fact your ideologys are extremely harmful) and not get petty.

The couple explained why they chose the name. & The middle name was to honor the mother's grandfather, so he was the guest of honor. All the foods & decorations were his favorite things. Baseball, gardening, the Beatles, the color green, I think food was like popcorn, chicken wings & they had a mashed potato bar- where everyone could add their own toppings. It was a super fun party. Bittersweet a bit, one of the reasons they did it was they figure the baby might not get a chance to know much about his great-grandfather, but now he has pictures & videos of this amazing party.

"Period products" just makes so much more sense then the strange ways stores label them now.
@EricaGamet4 жыл бұрын
But those products are used for more than just periods (think everyday pantyliners and post pregnancy, postmenopausal, etc.)... so maybe something that includes all that? But then you basically have to call out the body part(s) that creates those issues and that's not going to help ANYONE feel good. I'm thinking period products might just be a semi-happy medium?
@samthelion39254 жыл бұрын
Because society is too disgusted by the idea of periods so they try to "pretty" them up with different words or slapping some flower patterns on the side of the boxes that contain them. But no, periods are just stuff people have. It's like, yeah, someone elses saliva isn't something I'd want to WILLINGLY put into my mouth, but I recognise that people do in fact have it and therefore I can say the word "Salivating" without gagging. Society is just too grossed out by what a vagina does.
@juliz25004 жыл бұрын
I think "sanitary product" is completely fine. To me, that name doesn't imply that periods are gross or shameful, just that you don't want bloodstains everywhere. Also, the word "sanitary product" doesn't exclude a gender or one of the various reasons for using these products.

I used to work at Lush. During the Christmas period, a pregnant lady came into the shop and approached me, asking for a gender reveal bath bomb. Now, I was the only openly nonbinary sales assistant on the shop floor that day(had my pronoun badge and everything), and she asked ME of all people for a gender reveal bath bomb. Okay so she explains to me that it needs to not be gender-specific on the outside, but turn the bath pink. The only two bath bombs at the time that fit that description were Black Rose (black with some red on the outside, turns the bath pitch black but there's a pink core), and Snow Fairy; pink with white snow flake on one side, white with blue snowflake on the other side. She went for Snow Fairy, not knowing how Cis™ she was being, buying a bath bomb in the trans flag colours for her gender reveal party 😂

As a trans person the whole “let’s reveal our unborn child’s genitals” is so crazy and wtf. I think a more wholesome thing to do instead of “gender” reveal is a baby reveal. I hate that people say a gender reveal is to reveal what genitals they have. Gender makes up literally every part of our lives and our identities. If gender didn't contribute to our core identity then trans people wouldn't even exist. Finding out what sex your child is, is literally the first part of their identity that we learn. It doesn't go on to say that the child can't be trans, but gender reveals aren't transphobic or simply about genitalia. A persons gender is so much more than genitalia, which as a trans person I'm sure you would agree with. If our society wasn't gendered, then yeah gender reveals are pointless, but we don't. Our society is gendered, and the fact is that the majority of people are cis gender with true trans people being the minority. Knowing the sex of a persons child means you know what pronouns to call them. Also, the first ultrasound celebration wouldn't be helpful as you're still likely to miscarry at that point and once the sex is visible, you're less likely to miscarry.
