I love the fact that Coach consistently compares the messages and feelings he gets from Cole's music to Love Yourz. That's actually J. Cole's favorite song from his own catalog, and he also consistently goes back to it when he feels like he's straying from what he feels is his right path. It really is a great song with an important message, and I'm glad you see it that way as well. Great reaction. Can't wait for more Cole.

Thanks. As more time has passed that one stands out even more as a favorite from him. The message is so good. Very cool to know h e feels that way also. Appreciate you watching.

Ok I would like to formally apologize lol I think I included this in "light-hearted" category when suggesting on a previous video. I think the song itself is upbeat, the video however.... yeah haha it's way more meaningful, but very heavy. For this suggestion, I can 100% say "on the street" J hope with J cole is light hearted. Loved the reaction as usual! Anyone telling you not to listen to J Cole has something truly wrong with them. Please keep reacting to his songs!

No worries, we are glad we saw the video. It's powerful storytelling, and quite impactful. And you are right, the sing itself is pretty upbeat. Thanks for watching!

I love the fact that you guys take your time and visit some of J.Coles Art. I wonder if you guys know that he creates all of his music almost completely on his own?.. Thats something I really love about him as an artist and what makes him stand out. :) Also its really worth listening to his albums completely, because they are coherent and always structured to tell a bigger story/picture.

Thanks. It was our son who introduced us to the music, as he is a big fan. We did not know that he does all that on his own. That's quite impressive. Obviously this isn't our normal music and we're sure that is easy to tell, but we realize he has an important story to tell, and we're trying very hard to live life with an open mind. Thank you so much for dropping by the channel.

7:35 can't believe no one else has answered this in the comments, but the old "people are people" song you're probably thinking of is, well, "People Are People" by Depeche Mode! Anyway, great to see more J. Cole on here! I appreciate y'all keeping an open mind and hearing what he's saying as you've been exploring. I know it was a rough start getting thrown into the deep end with "Middle Child" first and no "translation" on the lingo haha. This video here ("Crooked Smile") is really haunting. Not sure if you noticed, btw, but the ending instrumental is The Star-Spangled Banner. J. Cole is a brilliant lyricist, but even without words, he says so much there. Little side note/tidbit, since you've been exploring Korean pop music as well, J. Cole actually did a collab with a Korean artist last year, who has cited Cole as one of the artists who inspired him to pursue music in the first place. I know y'all have mentioned wanting to stick to girl groups when it comes to Korean music, so not even gonna drop the track or artist name lol. I just thought it was interesting how this seemingly "unrelated" artist you've been discovering has also had a big impact on Korean music too. J. Cole's impact is huge-and for a reason!

He’s a white rapper but he’s excellent with his words, would often make his own beats, would sing and rap. Just a solid well rounded artist. Another awesome reaction though, guys!

Social commentary at its best. That's what make J Cole special - His awareness of issues going around, and clearly his passion and willingness to make a positive impact through what he knows best - rapping. This is especially true of how his music has been evolving as he is growing. It's the story of Aiyana Mo'Nay Stanley-Jones, check it out online :)

Hey, love from Brazil! 🇧🇷🇧🇷 I turned on the notifications and I'm waiting for every J Cole reaction you do! Ppl in the comments are recommending you to react to their favs, not the songs that make sense right now 🤦🏻♂️ I'm a long time J Cole fan and I would recommend this for you: J Cole - Change J Cole - Neighbors (how dumb neighbors thought he was selling drugs, when he was actually recording in his new house - react to the song with the lyrics and then the video on his KZbin channel - and if you want it has a short video from a live show where he explains the situation) Royce da 5'9 - Boblo Boat ft J Cole 6lack - Pretty little fears ft J Cole J Cole - Friends J Cole - The cut off

This video is actually based on a true story from my city, Detroit. Raid on a house, little girl, Aiyana Stanley-Jones was sleeping on the couch, law enforcement kicked down the door shot first asked questions later… sadly not uncommon🤷🏾♂️. Busting down doors and shooting automatically. They were looking for a murder suspect and only had his last known address, which makes a swat raid ridiculous. Threw a flashbang in the house that landed so close to the 7 year old sleeping that it burned the little girl’s blanket, as her grandmother was also in the living room watching tv. Suspect was not in the house😑 Edit: Officer Joseph Weekly was found not guilty for charges of involuntary manslaughter. I was 12 when it happened and i remember my mom being PISSED, and my stepdad was a DPD officer at the time too. They were filming A&E Swat and she kept saying “these stupid mothafuckas want to act out for this damn show going overboard and murdered a damn baby”. I remember not being able to go to my great aunt’s house for a while again because my older cousins were in the streets and she was afraid I would be that kid. Same thing happened before where I couldnt go over there for a year after some fools shot my auntie house up for some mistaken identity stuff because they ended up catching them and they stated, “i seen a guy that robbed me hanging around on that block and we thought he lived in that house” turned out to be one of my cousins friends that lived behind my Aunt’s house

Wow...yes, these things happen. They shouldn't. Many people don't want to think about it or acknowledge it. They want to make excuses. There is no acceptable excuse for that. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share. Perhaps one day we can all live without that worry.
