belt fan driven compressor, ck ; new idea Wrappon japan emergency toilet never seen that v/slick system works great. I like it seem 2 sec simple unlike composting multi pg instruction & no smell. Nice to meet Jack and see their setup. The flat nose design of Bundutec popups seem to offer more wind resistance than a traditional hard wall camper with a sloping front end. I'm guessing that their unit fits inside a container for overseas shipping.

Done a number of large road trips around Aus. Definitely want to explore the high country in Vic. Just remember Aus has alot of nothing, long distances between the bigger popular places. If you do your research as there are lots of hidden areas. Remember our average 4wds are patrols, land cruisers and mid sized Utes (size of the Rangers). Those large Utes might not fit down all the trails, definitely not fit in the wheel tracks. which on trips like the canning stock route 1200+ km track with no fuel. Have been known to clam lots of tyres. Camping wise expect hotter conditions. Spend your winter up north is it's dryer then and more bearable and summer down south. Expect general temperatures to be between 16-33 Celsius. With mins just dropping into the negatives unless in the snow country. And Max temperatures reaching above 45 in the shade, in the center of Aus. (that's 113 Fahrenheit) I live in the north, we get an average temperature of 28-35 year round and wet season sees 80-100% humidity.
@chrisvenderley23085 жыл бұрын
Completely agree mate! Do your research and have long range tanks if you plan on doing Simpson desert or other long range places where there will be no fuel. As for places to put on your list, definitely recommend Fraser Island, worlds largest sand island! Also Uluru, and Kakadu. Amazing places!

If it is very cold, like below freezing, and feet of snow....I imagine that the pop top would not work, or be strong enough to hold up the weight of the snow on top. What about heating? Everyone talking about A/C in comments. Solar panels on top? Would need more panels, portable in case of snow cover. What about high winds? Are there stabilizers to prevent tipping over?
@ritas31775 жыл бұрын
Recovering Soul In my research the pop up truck campers have a lot of options for the cold. Four Wheel offers a liner that you can buy and it has a propane furnace option that works well. The folks in Colorado take them skiing. I imagine the other manufacturers have similar options. Four wheel insulates their camper all the way around as well.

Which ones were your favorite? I'm sure you saw the hallmark campers which are awesome. I also really like the Alaskan campers and of course this bundutec is top notch. Which ones did you like most?
@mcar-man17515 жыл бұрын
Hallmark would definitely be my first choice since I may be coming out of a hard side slide in. The four wheel campers are great too...but think it would be hard going down to that in terms of amenities. If I were coming up from a tent then heck yeah. Don't get me wrong....there were amazing rigs there of all kinds. I would love to down size...but im not singe. My co-pilot likes a potty and a shower. The Toyota's seem to be taking over the overland definition but since I really did not start there, it is hard to believe you can fit all your gear in a small space. My son and i are building an ex military truck into an overland as well. That will stay east coast. It is a Beast.

To a degree, every Bundutec is a custom build. This rig looks to me like the Free model made for a flatbed and including other custom touches such as the roll out fridge and the commode. Definitely a sweet set-up. I had the pleasure of talking with Rory and Jen at their Overland Expo booth in Flagstaff this past weekend. I was happy to get the opportunity for a firsthand look at Bundutec, and was, to say the least, impressed with the build quality. Rory says he can build pretty much any unit on their website as a soft or hardside, and as we can see here, for a flatbed as well.
