Watching this over my morning cup of tea, I had no idea I would be weeping before 9am, LOL...Oh, that first song…just sublime! Thank you for using your platform to share opera and the beauty of the classical voice. I grew up with opera in the house, as my father was a tenor in local amateur light opera productions. He had fallen in love with opera because of Zinka Milanov. I didn't really fall in love in my own right with classical voice until my 20s, when I heard Vaughan Williams' "Songs of Travel" interpreted by John Shirley-Quirk. Those songs, and his particular voice, touched something very deep inside me.

Maybe you have a tip for me, as an experienced opera singer, and baritone. I am 19 now and started singing a few competitions, where mostly the feedback I got was: I am either singing to light or I sound like a tenor who is faking being a baritone for whatever reason. I can’t tell what will happen in the future but for now, I can’t sing higher than f/g, a range where I physically can’t sing tenor repertoire. I started artificially darkening my voice, wich me professor quickly talked me out of, but it’s really frustrating to her people calling me a lazy/untalented tenor
