Excellent interview with a lot of depth. I have yet to watch Couples Therapy but became interested in Orna Guralnik from a profile of her in the May 23, 2022 The New Yorker.

Would anyone happen to know the name of the interviewer? She asks insightful questions in a down to earth way, and I'd like to watch other interviews by her.

I'm sure this is an odd thing to pick up on, but what struck me most was the comment from the interviewer here who said, "I had a call from my therapist's receptionist...", or something like that. I'm a therapist in the UK and I know many many therapists in the UK. I am fairly sure there are no therapists in the UK who have a receptionist. What a bizarre concept. I'm now super curious about what the receptionist does all day. Is this therapist having client enquiries one right after the other? How many phone calls or visitors to the office does it require to justify paying for a receptionist? This concept has messed with my mind, to be honest.

@@MysiaLusia Yes, and also therapists working solo can contract with an organization that helps them organize their 'business.'

I go to a therapy center that probably has 50+ therapists so there are receptionists/clerical workers that handle appointment making and checking in and out etc a lot of places are like that at least where i am

Also from the UK. Medical consultants have their own secretaries. Almost like their own PA’s. I can only assume this is what she meant by ‘receptionist’.

Her last comment about her hopes that society does not boomerang back to no empathy did not age well :(
