Using a clipboard to record gifts is a good way to make certain that thank-you cards can be properly filled out. But, counting the money the same day, while others waited, is totally crass. Wedding planned by the couple's CHILDREN???? When I grew up, the children of the marital couple had not yet been conceived by the time of the wedding.

Story 1: Oh, Jesus God, that couple is disgusting. Who plays favorites with their own wedding guests? And expecting to make a *profit* on the whole thing? That’s a whole new level of entitlement. I feel for the OP and the guests that were snubbed. I would never wish bad things on someone, but I’ll make an exception for the despicable bride and groom. I hope their marriage ends in a divorce.

I would be appalled. If I had given them a check, I'm pretty sure I'd cancel it. In fact, rude as it is to fiddle with one's phone at a wedding reception, other to get fun photos and vids, I'd yoink mine out like lightning to tell the bank to stop it. I've never _heard_ of such colossal chutzpah. I was surprised at a reception to find a "money dance" to be a tradition in the Cleveland area, but this beats the money dance all hollow.You'd think the parents or someone would be embarrassed, but evidently not.
