I live in a smaller town. Walmart, CVSv and Walgreens are all with in 4-5 miles from my house lol I was a nurse for 20 yrs, been disabled for 6+ years and couponing gives me something to do besides laying in bed watching Netflix lol plus helps being a single disabled mom of 3!!

I don't really do paper coupons and rarely printable coupons anymore. Peelies, hangtags and digital is my main couponing anymore.

I do spend money on coupon inserts ( not newspapers). But I preview the coupons to see if I want to buy them. Also, there are so many Sundays that don't have the inserts anymore. It used to be Holiday Sundays where there weren't inserts. Now adays it seems coupon inserts are only coming around twice a month. And even then they aren't offering coupons on products I use. I always feel bad for new couponers who get sucked into these subscriptions from coupon fairies. They're paying set price for the month, thinking they're going to receive coupons all 4 weeks. They eventually figure out it wasn't worth the subscription price. Also, finding out that more and more IPs aren't scanning at stores. That has become so frustrating. A waste of money since the coupons won't scan, and a waste of my ink. This was a great video Nick thanks for posting.

Thank you for this honest review of couponing! I’ve been a couponer for 30+ years and have realized everything you spoke about. The other cost would be space in your home stockpiling and time organizing it. Knowledge is power and knowing is half the battle. I continue to coupon using digitals and only buying products and brands my family use. Again, thank you for keeping it real!

Thank you Nick. I’m trying my best to work smarter in couponing. Don’t buy newspapers for me it’s not worth it. As for gas I’m trying to go to stores that are on my way to work or running errands. I’m not doing those run deals like some couponers run to every second. The Spanish channels do so many run deals it’s insane for those people who follow those run deals because the way its explained for me don’t make sense to my pocket and its always a waste of my time because you don’t find the products or something. If it’s meant when I get to it if I get to it then it’s meant. Many of them use gift cards and stuff and people don’t see that so if I feel I will have a high out of pocket just to get store credit on products I don’t need or use them no thank you. I only use advice that makes sense to my pocket and my time. 👍🏻🙏🏻

I moved to Ohio a few years ago. I do not have the coupon options like I used to have (expensive Sunday papers, no Walgreens, living farther from other stores) but did not realize about the sales tax on the retail price before coupons. All your points are important to consider. Nice video!

My cvs shopping is a real good example of how much tax can eat up savings. I get $20/$100 or $20/$80 on 2 cards every week. Right there, that $20/$100 means i have to pay $6... that's ok if I'm getting $6 worth of stuff we need, but often times, it's makeup, oral care, shampoo ...stuff we already have plenty of. So, i have to either make a deal happen on something we need or decide if it's worth $6 to have a haul. Gas doesn't bother me, because i wouldn't be sitting at home if i wasn't couponing. Before i started couponing, i was drinking/partying...that alone saved an unreal amount of money when i stopped. At one time, I was driving to ohio to meet up with friends and party.

I do not purchase the Sunday paper either. I used to get the Sunday paper delivered and get any extra leftover papers from the paper person. They would gladly give them to me, and I would give them stockpile items. Then I moved. Now my new town there was a place for recycling newspapers and magazines. I loved seeing the bundles of the Sunday papers the carriers used to throw in the bin. Oh, the good old days!!

I don’t buy any newspapers. I by clipped coupons. I am lucky. In Missouri where I live if things r free I don’t pay any taxes. So shopping at CVS makes me money. Now for me gas can be a lot. I live in the country. 25 miles away I have Walmart and CVS. Target is 50 minutes away on way. So I don’t shop Target. I go to town once a week. Good video. Thank u!

Thanks for sharing info. Re buying newspapers, stopped buying years ago. Found that it wasn't worth it. Print coupons & my Seniors collect the inserts for me (I shop for them). Tax expense, try to go negative so coupons cover some of it. Gas: lucky 4 major stores in my town, only 4 Sq miles. Only hit stores as I'm traveling to a destination. Opportunities: shop for Seniors, so incorporate their needs with Walgreens spend boosters, etc. & use their OTC, food stamps to cover spend threshold & get the WC back. Did deal Wednesday, total after coupons, RR & food stamps...zero oop.

Hi Nick, I'd stop buying newspapers long time ago when the price increased. I will print them or use digital. I only buy what I need.and I was buying things for my daughter and grandson but they have moved away to another state. I do shop at stores in my area. Do you use Walmart cash? I've started doing it and it's great! I just have to do a separate transaction than my ibotta. I noticed Walmart is putting manufacturing coupons on some items. I haven't purchased a newspaper in a long time where I use to live the local library was closed on Sunday's so therefore the newspapers would get delivered on Saturday's so I would get the inserts from the library it was literally a box with coupons since I've moved sometimes I order individual coupons but typically I use digital.

Paying for newspapers isn't worth it these days. If I need a specific coupon, I go to a coupon clipping service and purchase one coupon in multiples for under $3. I like digitals because they tell you what items work with the digital. These cashiers don't understand how paper coupons work and it's not worth the time explaining it.

I live in ND and we don't get the same sunday inserts with coupons like other regions. I used to order what I needed but only after previewing them for appx $19 which I shared cost with fellow couponer. I seldom use it now since some digitals are more convenient to use.

I buy my newspapers from Dollar Tree for $1.25. Next week there is a buy 1 get 1 free Dove body wash coupon coming, so to me the newspaper inserts are worth it.

I don't buy coupons anymore, they just aren't worth it because they usually don't have anything good. And I don't do run deals anymore. I usually stop after work or something like that or get stuff when i actually have to to to the store.
