No we are not earth brothers. Most of the Nazis were hopped up on meth. Or rack. This enabled them to be up without sleep for 48 hours or longer, which enabled them to move day and night, thus the “blitzkrieg. The crystal meth also turned them in to sadistic beasts, with no compassion for either humans or beast. This appears to be a Wehrmacht soldier who did not partake of narcotics, and did not lose his civility. He apparently was human and did not like the behavior of his fellow soldiers. Thus the film……..

German soldiers did not act like that. I have stories from my grandmother who said they were very polite and payed her for each chicken and sheep they ate. They gave chocolate to my aunts and uncles who were kids by than and even cured one of my aunts who was about to die of dezynteria.

In reality, the German soldier would not have shot his comrade for having raped a French woman as some act of Christian Charity (notice the Cross hanging on the wall behind the renegade soldier at the onset of this video--presupposing his religious identification with compassion). He would have shot his comrade because he was not allowed to take a jab at raping the woman too. Call that a cynical approach but if you are mentioning "reality" I think that would have been the real situation. Perhaps in reality the soldiers were drunk on the French wine they had stolen as well and the shooting of his friend would have been a sudden burst of rage and drunkenness. His fellow officers may not have immediately shot at this soldier for having killed while in a drunken rape fest mood. That is conjecture but could be akin to the reality in a situation like that in the short video above.

I wont comment on the scenario as it is a fiction and they do want they want...but concerning uniforms, what is going on here, i did not see any Heeres Bekleidungsamt in the film but the main character is wearing a Feldbluse 36 at the beginning, then he wears a Feldbluse 43 in the cave, back to the Feldbluse 36 while killing his ex-Kameraden and finally back to the Feldbluse 43 when he's facing the Officer....WTF ?

Wow, young Steiner was a tough fellow. He kills a comrade and the unfortunate French girl with one shot, when chased down he manages to kill four more Germans almost unarmed, despite suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Steiner is so tough that he operates on his own torso gunshot wound with his bayonet, when a wolf presents him with a pigeon for tea, he eats it raw despite having a fire to cook it on!

Mon père avait un ami, un malgré nous d'Alsace Lorraine. Il a été enrôlé de force en 41 et s'est retrouvé sur le front de l'est. Là, il a tué son unité et a rejoint les lignes soviétiques… il a pu expliquer son histoire à un officier russe qui parlait français… et il a été enrôlé de force dans l'armée rouge… il a déserté à nouveau en Allemagne à la fin de la guerre et a pu rejoindre la France. Détail amusant, le type ne traversait jamais quand le feu était vert, même s'il n'y avait pas de voiture. Il disait, j'ai toujours été très prudent dans ma vie et ça m'a réussit… le gars avait des histoires glaçantes sur ce qu'il s'était passé à l'est.

This scenario is very unlikely, the Wermacht was very disciplined, and a very few case of rape was recorded in France, as same as slaughters, or at that time of the war (I ain't speaking about the Waffen SS thought). So the scenario isn't very realistic to my opinion..
