You’ll want to look into Courtney a lot more. There’s a good reason why she has over a million subscribers from around the world. She’s very diverse. You can’t pin her to one genre. And she’s a beast on stage. Great vocalist, song writer, and entertainer.

I first saw her on The Voice Kids UK, when it aired here in New Zealand, but what really made me take notice was her AGT audition a few months later back in 2018. Those performances made me a true fan of hers. She was 13 for the AGT audition, and 14 for the rest of the performances. She is British, born in Hartlepool. Since AGT, she also released an EP of four cover songs, simply called Courtney Hadwin Covers, on all platforms, then a cover of John Lennon's Merry Xmas, The War Is Over. Due to Covid, major gigs being cancelled, label interference she wasn't able to release anything more professionally for quite some time, but she did do a lot of videos from home during the lockdowns (you should seriously see her Quarantine cover of What's Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner). This year she became independent, and released five original songs, so far, with Monsters being one of them. The others are Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here, Call Me Back & Christmas Rocks. She is currently working on an album to be released early 2024. To me, with all of the videos I've seen of hers, from the age of nine years old, she is the most versatile singer in a long, long time, both in vocal range, and also genre. For me, she is truly the GOAT. By the way, love the box of Trypticon, and other G1 Transformers in the background.

Hi Lar! So cool that you've come upon Courtney's music. Courtney is absolutely amazing. The best thing to happen to the music world in decades, if not forever. You've only heard the one uptempo rocky song, but she is equally great in everything from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there never is any loss to the incredible quality of her music. She even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. She has incredible vocal power, control and range. You can't fully tell from this music video, but she is a true stage beast, in the best sense of the word, and dominates a stage like no other when she's rocking out. She's a dynamite guitarist, plays piano and is a true powerhouse as a song writer. As you hear more of Courtney, you'll realize what a truly generational level talent she is. This song is a true rock anthem. Best rock song we've heard in forever. As to your speculation on what the 'Monsters' are, Courtney has said that the monsters in this song are all the self-doubts and insecurities that we all deal with every day. In that sense, the meaning of the song is universal. The monsters may be different for each of us, but we all wrestle with our own personal demons. Courtney had been singing for a number of years prior, but she burst to worldwide fame when she took America's Got Talent (AGT) by storm with this performance in 2018. This audition video went viral and currently has over 1 Billion views. Courtney herself has nearly 3 Billion on line views. She has a devoted following of millions from virtually everywhere on the globe. On AGT, Courtney focused on singing classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. She literally blew the roof off of the arena with every performance. After AGT, so many who were first introduced to her there, viewed her as strictly this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she most certainly is. However, she is so, so much more. Few realized how versatile she really was. So she then released a four song EP, where she took massive recent hits across multiple genres, totally re-invented them and created something amazing out of each of them. As an example, one of the songs on the EP was 'Lil Nas' huge record setting hit 'Old Town Road', which Courtney turned from it's original Country/Hip Hop version into a magnificent rock masterpiece. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal range, but also her unmatched creativity. For all four of the songs on the EP, I've never come across anyone who has heard both the originals and Courtney's version, that didn't feel that Courtney blew the originals totally out of the water. All four songs (Old Town Road, Sucker, Sign of the Times and Somebody You Loved) are on Courtney's KZbin channel. Courtney is 19 now. There have been many hurdles for her to get her original music out. First were issues with her label, where they tried to twist her into something she didn't want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to pop. Courtney stood her ground. Then Covid hit and shut everything down for over two years. Courtney is British and travel was completely shut down from the UK to the US (where here team was) during that time. Then her label was sold, leading to whole new levels of chaos. As soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she walked away from her label and went independent. Since that has happened, she has already dropped five incredible originals. 'Breakable', a gorgeous, gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', a jazzy uptempo song with a touch of 1940's swing, 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it, this incredible rock anthem, 'Monsters' and 'Christmas Rocks', which is a fabulous new rocky Christmas tune that will simply demand that you move with it. All of her original new music is on her KZbin channel and would make for terrific next reactions. There is no other voice in music like Courtney's. Courtney has a huge song library that she has developed over the last several years, which she hasn't been able to release (as explained above), but she has shared many, in whole or part, with her fans, and they are sensational. Now that she is in control of her music, it is said to expect a new release approximately every month or two, with an album to drop in the first quarter of next year. If you're going to be reacting to more Courtney music, you've got me as a subscriber. Can't wait for more.

I have Borderline Personality Disorder (Basicly my emotions work at 100% all of the time, at the same time) I can relate to this soooooooo much. The image with her in the bathroom and the clown banging the wall is very familiar to me. I love this girl. She's 19 and has quite a few original songs out there, all different in genre. Breakable is a ballad and absolutely beautiful. That Girl Don't Live Here is a...jazz/swing/rock song (Fantastic!) Call Me Back is a big ballad and Christmas Rock is pure Punk Rock (Imagine if Joan Jett did a Christmas song with Ramones 😂😂🔥🔥)

Welcome To The Wonderful World Of Courtney Hadwin! For recommendations I gotta go with the other four original songs she's released this year, for many reasons that include you won't have any videos blocked for copyright violations. Nobody has since she went independent this year and she even commented on at least one reaction, thanking him for doing it. Reactors aren't always as lucky with the talent shows she's done and the cover songs she did while she was still under contract, but I still gotta say, if you haven't seen them, her AGT audition of Hard to Handle in 2018 when she was only 13 especially is a treat you owe to yourself. The other 4 original songs she released this year are: Courtney Hadwin - Breakable (Official Video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoDNqoZrrJaCpNE ; Courtney Hadwin - That Girl Don't Live Here (Official Music Video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKqsfYNqebWDitE ; Courtney Hadwin - Call Me Back (Official Music Video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIa2mKx-d9J0p80 ; and Courtney Hadwin - Christmas Rocks (Official Audio) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3OWqalohZWmlbs - the only one newer than Monsters and the only one without an official video, but well worth doing a reaction to for the song alone! Have a Happy New Year! I really enjoyed your reaction, Liked and Subscribed.

Courtney was a shocking performer on AGT in 2018 where she was a finalist but did not win. She was invited back to AGT for Champions as a 14 year old where she wowed again with her own song. Her idols are Janis Joplin, James Brown, Tina Turner, Mick Jagger, etc. She has done four live covers after her AGT days. In 2023 she made four videos and a Christmas song of original material. Her millions of fans patiently hoping for an album this year. Few will not know her then.

I see lots of Courtney recommendations so I will leave you some lesser known artists to explore. I am into rock so… Dea Matrona - a classic rock duo from N. Ireland, Orlaith (Orla) Forsythe and Mollie McGinn were two schooled friends who bonded over bands like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac. They swap between bass and lead guitar, share lead vocals and harmonize like angels especially on their acoustic songs. Ally Venable - Texas blues rock singer, guitarist, songwriter whose latest album spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues charts. Madison Galloway - a Canadian singer songwriter who is probably in the Americana/folk/rock/blues genre. Solo or with a full band she is a treat. Larkin Poe - probably the best known of my recommendations, these sisters originally from Georgia have twice been nominated for Grammys in the Modern Blues category. They also are Americana/Southern Rock/Blues. Mona Lisa Twins - yes, they are real twins named Mona and Lisa. They love 60s and early 70s music, especially the Beatles. On heavier notes, hard rock bands Dirty Honey, Rival Sons, The Answer and also the Laura Cox Band among my current favorites, but Ally Venable and Dea Matrona on my top right now.
