Thanks QoFy for this great reaction. I wanted you to hear a different side of Courtney and I feel this song really showcases her voice best. I was mesmerized the first several times I watched it. Courtney’s voice is unparalleled IMO. She puts so much emotion into each song she takes you right along with her. I really enjoy your reactions. You always have insightful observations and/or in this case your facial expressions told the story! Thanks again.

Hi QoFy. Really great reaction. So glad that you got to see another facet of the brilliant diamond that Courtney's artistry truly is. So many people who just knew Courtney from AGT, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she most certainly is. However, she is so, so much more. She has one of the most versatile and beautiful voices in all of music. Not just rock, but ballads (as you see here), R&B, Funk, Soul and more. The incredible thing is that, across so many genres, there is no loss to the fabulous quality of her music or vocals. Her transitions between genres are seamless and exquisite. When those of us who follow Courtney say that she can sing anything and do it better than anyone else, there is no hyperbole there. She really can. She even had a short opera clip go viral on TikTok. Combine the power, control, versatility and beauty of her voice with her ability to dominate a stage, her terrific skills as a guitarist and the fact that she is a powerhouse as a song writer and there is no doubt that Courtney is truly a generational talent and, in many of our views, the voice of a lifetime. This song was part of a 4 song EP that Courtney released. As I mentioned earlier, since most knew her as this great rocker from AGT, but not the full range of her talent, this EP was released to highlight Courtney's tremendous vocal versatility as well as her unmatched creativity. She took recent massive hit songs, across multiple genres, and re-invented them as her own. One suggestion. When listening to a Courtney cover, always make sure you're familiar with the original first, because Courtney's version will never sound anything like the original. It makes what she does with the song even more amazing. I've put several links below as options for future reactions. The first two are the remaining songs from Courtney's 4 song EP that you have yet to react to. The third is the cover of a Tina Turner song where you get to hear and see Courtney's guitar skills along with the vocals, the fourth is a song that Courtney recorded that many feel is one of her most spectacular pieces of music. The fifth is her in a special performance on AGT with the British band 'The Struts' singing a Janis Joplin song. "So much range" is a very accurate comment at multiple levels: actual octave range (almost 4), range of vocal character, range of genres, creativity range. You also are prescient about her massive career, assuming the world can approach some normalcy! And she was still only 14 when she recorded this!

Courtney had a multidisk multi year contract with Sony Music Arista. This song with three others was released as ' the Cover Sessions ' way back in 2019. Only one Christmas song has been released since then. Its not at all clear what has happened with the expected epic release of a full album with ARISTA. Courtney turns 18 this year and is scheduled to perform at the FM4 Frequency Festival in Austria on the Redbull stage, Covid willing.

Nice reaction, QR! So far, you've reviewed 2 of 4 songs from Courtney's "Cover Sessions" album, "OLD TOWN ROAD" and "SIGN OF TIMES". Would you please react to the other 2 songs from that album, "SOMEONE YOU LOVED" and "SUCKER"? Thank you! 🙏🙏

Can you believe that during and after AGT she was bashed and ridiculed for being a screamer? Guess she showed them! I really enjoy your reactions. You really listen not just watch. I hope you continue to react to Courtney. You'll be amazed with every new video.

Thanks for this very expressive and detailed reaction. Also thanks to Sherry for recommending this other direction for you to react to. When Courtney 1st started doing open mic contests a few years younger than here, she hadn't yet been introduced to old school rock. It was only when she came upon a James Brown video that she realized she wanted to learn more about that era of fun music. But she never really move away from what she used to sing, as some not so familiar with her early singing career would believe. Most who follow her early on know Courtney's roots in her earlier days. When she was 11 maybe 10 she connected more on her rock style for a while. Below are just some of the song choices she had been singing prior to her newer rock/RnB direction. "The man in the mirror" kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqO6mqyqjKegbJY "CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE" kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKm5ZZt4mNx8fLc "Beautiful Me | Dappy" kzbin.info/www/bejne/faa7nHqBZ5meoNk Hope to watch more of Courtney as you experience her very diverse talents.
