It's interesting. At my age I no longer seek out stories that will hurt me or haunt me. I gave up horror movies and sad films, but with Heartstopper, I am looking forward to everything, even the heartache and the tears. I'm very much ready for this.

@@Courtney-Jai I used to love them too, but my appetite for horror has dropped dramatically. Having said that, I did just binge All of Us Are Dead on Netflix, and I enjoyed it and even cried quite a bit. Trivia tidbit: I'm a fan of Nicholas Galitzine and he cites horror as his favorite genre too!

Great to have you back again talking about Heartstopper, Courtney! I look forward to your weekly videos when the season gets started. Insofar as what I'm excited about about S3 based on the trailer ... well, of course, pretty much everything! But one thing in particular I'm excited about is the fact that this is probably going to be the best season for Tori. She is my favorite character other than the leads, and so excited that Jenny will be able to further stretch her acting chops. The scenes they show with Charlie and Tori look absolutely breathtaking. Only thing is with the trailer, it doesn't really show Tori and Michael like the teaser did, but maybe they thought they accomplished it all in the teaser. ???

Each time I see the trailer I know the roller coaster of emotions we’re about to all go through, but I’m so ready for it! I’ve read all the books out now…but it’ll be beautiful to see this story on the screen…this show is so important on so many levels…bless Alice for giving us this story ❤

Honestly, i loved seeing the bit about elles dysphoria... I don't think I've ever seen that represented before, its so real! Honestly sometimes i think the transphobia in the world is because people cant imagine how it could be loving someone trans, but it's actually realy practical.. it just takes communication, its still love making ❤ Perhaps when that scene comes out you could talk about that courney jai? With a trans friend on here? Or ask them for advice how to do a video about it, from a trans perspective? I think some people just need to learn, its all ok 🌟 Its just love, love is fun ☺️ and its a good thing ❤

OMG, I'm so looking forward to Season 3. I keep rewatching Seasons 1 and 2. I have read and re-read all 5 books and even though I haven't seen the official season 3 trailer other than what you showed in your podcast here, it looks like they combined books 4 and 5 into this new season and I'm all for it. I'm sorry that Olivia Coleman won't be in this season, but I hope she's back for season 4, because I absolutely love her.

I am excited but I have also been very anxious because I knew that it was going to be sad and address more darker topics. So it should be interesting to see how far I get into the season without bawling 😅 I just really hope they all stay together through it all or I it will be very heartbreaking.

I am hoping that Imogen discovers that she is more than bicurious. With the majority culture in most places being heteronormative (even now) it seems reasonable that Imogen could have been oblivious to her feelings towards Sahar being deeper than she thought

Ok, I found it interesting that 16 year olds were learning how to use condoms. In Australia I did it in grade 6 with a group of 10 and 11 year olds. I think us girls did menstruation the same day or week too. And now with so many Endocrine Disrupting synthetic additives and plastic, girls are starting their periods as young as 8. Getting education ahead of need of the minority is so critical.

Feels like at points it's going to be heartbreaking

I understand why the show is such a massive comfort zone for so many people. (The main story is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!) But that's exactly what makes it its own bubble, which isn't really real. Maybe in an established queer life in a big city. But not in an inexperienced student life. It shows a wishful thinking that many young people may have, that almost everyone belongs to the queer bubble in this school group and almost everyone who doesn't belong is somehow uncarring or even evil. I don't want to say anything bad about it or anything. Because it is so sweet and warm and innocent, compared to the tragic and often lustful pieces. I just hope that there aren't kids out there who are looking for the same bubble in their school, because they'll probably never find it that way. It is much more likely to find allies, at least during school time, until you move from your small town to a big city, because without a huge mass of people you have no chance of finding this unfortunately quite small percentage that is like you. Precisely because so many different versions of being queer have been squeezed into this group, it unfortunately feels rather unrealistic in this regard (and yes, I know that this is supposed to be so that everyone can find themselves in someone in the group). Warm and heartfelt but unrealistic in the everyday life of a student. Because unfortunately there are only a certain number of people who are "one of us" and if you only get to know 1 or 2 people at your school (depending on how big it is) in your school-career, that's great. There was one in my small town school who couldn't hide it (I think he would have preferred to hide it at school because he didn't want to be the only one who was bullied for). That's it. Later I heard of another, she was said to be bisexual, but nothing was "confirmed". And you can still be friends with straight people in school and after, and have the same interests. I don't want to say that straight people are underrepresented here, but they are often in a bad context (Nick's brother, father), if it's not like family, like Tori or Nick's mother. We shouldn't really be working on an "we" and "them" and "hopefully we'll be accepted by them" but rather on an all-encompassing "us". I hope you understand what I want to say. That the bubble, as sweet and warm as it is, somehow also remains to itself. It doesn't work towards a better "us" either. I think if there is a better "us", and we can all feel safer, then each individual will have less to fear about finding out what is going on with them personally. You could talk to everyone, including your straight friends, and you wouldn't have to watch queer series "secretly" because you're ashamed of what you're watching and can't really talk to anyone. Because that safe environment doesn't exist with "us".

@appletinitwoappletinis7249 this I can actually agree with that why I think imogan being an ally helps the show tremendously, although it would be nice for her to have a romance with saha if it should happen I think having a friend group that is fully diverse matters aswell. On the flip side of that I think this show has allowed alot more young people to come out earlier and be accepted so you probably find it does start to become the norm more often.
