"Men want a fantasy!" The fantasy: a woman who sees us as human beings.
@TTailled
@TTailled 9 ай бұрын
I wouldn't want someone to see me as a human being, humans suck and are worth less than the cars they drive in today's societal usefulness/ranking. I would prefer a woman see me as an intimate friend with benefits which would then evolve to housemate with benefits and finally a parent of our genetically identical offspring. Sadly though, not possible.. They just want to identify us as work mules and mind game toys which when broken are disposed of.. employers do the same thing and our government supports this kind of relationship which is why we will stay single if we know what's good for us.

Back when I got divorced and was doing the dating app thing, I ran across this woman who was attractive enough I read her profile. It started out with "Don't contact me unless..." And the freaking list was endless. You have a college degree. An established career with a plan for growth. Actively contributing to a 401k. Active gym membership and going at least 3 times/week. The list went on. Look, I probably tick off every woman's checklist, I have an MBA, I'm 6'3", weigh 175, good-looking enough. I make well over 6 figures, I don't drink or smoke or go out, I'm a Christian... And I swiped away from that woman IMMEDIATELY. ATTITUDE is everything. The last thing a man needs in life is a woman who's going to bail at the first sign of trouble. There's going to be ZERO loyalty in a person like that. None. They're loyal to an ideal, not to a person.

"It just requires you to type in your credit card number, and pay a woman who doesn't even care about you, which is sad" And while very true, this quote similarly describes the way some men feel within relationships. In the case of divorce or break up, this simply means that some men will continue to pay a woman who doesn't care about him, forever, or risk being thrown in jail. Yes, sad indeed.

I gave up looking for a woman before the internet was invented. I tried endlessly to be the best I could be. I was a So Cal surfer, male model, Ivy Grad, well known local theater actor. Didn't do drugs, not a partier, did love dancing in the clubs to great bands. (It was the 80s) I was told constantly that I could get any women I wanted, by both women and men. That was not my lived experience. Women were mean, nasty, cruel, deliberately hurtful. Sometimes laughed in my face. I never got to have a conversation, to show my personality, my intelligence, my humor, my charm. I was rejected simply for approaching them. I dont know why til this day. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. So I stopped completely. I just turned 71. I own 2 homes, one on a private beach in Nova Scotia. I'm a multi millionaire, but I don't live or act like one. So it was not because I was poor or not willing to work hard. I haven't even held a woman in my arms in 30 years. That blows my mind when I say it. I take responsibility for not asking anyone out or even going out. But why would I try when I had 25 years of rejection and pain. Why would I do that again to myself. I'd rather die alone.

I can see some truth behind your words, but as health-nut, I'm not sugarcoating anything when I'm asking for it in a potential mate. I'm being real. Imagine later in life if you stay together with someone who has a lot of unhealthy habits ...the accumulated health problems and medical costs can accumulate into a huge burden. Good health translates to quality-of-life, happiness, and overall satisfaction with your significant other. Imagine too the role-model a person with such unhealthy habits would be if you were to have a child with them. Children learn by what you do, not what you say. It would undoubtedly have a negative impact upon the child, and that's not something I can personally abide by. I try and be my best-self and lead by example. I expect the same in the women I am in relationships with, and that is not "unkind". On a final note, if a person is on their own ... then they can be as overweight as they want. ...But in a relationship, it's a selfish thing to do. The burdens, emotional, mental, and ultimately financial are all things brought into the relationship that didn't need to be there. P.S. In speaking about the health burdens brought into the relationship... I'm specifically talking about things like being overweight, smoking, alcohol, or drugs. These are self inflicted and can be overcome. I don't hold health ailments beyond a persons control to the same standard. I'm after the person who CHOOSES to live a better life, not only for themselves, but for their spouse and children as well. I don't' ask anything out of another that I wouldn't ask of myself.

I don't have any of her red flags, yet women don't want me. I have been single for decades. From 2012 to 2017 I was subscribed to 8 dating sites, I chatted to 100+ women, and went on 25+ dates with women of all types from obese 3's to unemployed ones. After they ate the expensive meal that I bought, they all told me they didn't want a relationship because I am not tall enough or rich enough, etc. I was nothing but a foodie call. I finally gave up and cancelled my dating site subscriptions. I haven't had anything to do with any women since. I am instead working on becoming completely financially independent. I have no debt, I own my home, I have $100k in savings and a net worth of $1 million, and I am working on multiple passive income streams. I am 5'8", I work out in the gym in my house, I plan on retiring in the next five years. And no, I am no longer looking for a woman.

Uhh "... dates with women of all types from obese 3's to unemployed ones." That doesn't sound like all types. After you get through some of your projects and have a bit of time and money, you might consider trying something like enrolling in a dance class or two. Women who like to dance are of higher quality. Typically women outnumber men in these settings. Dancing is a very portable social skill and it is fun too. I had bad experiences with rejections and feelings of worthlessness for decades. Women did not seem to want me either. Then I decided to try a couple of classes, attended a dance event and met my eventual wife (balding me at age 53) at a west coast swing dance event. But... before you get married, since you will likely have more wealth than your lady, be sure to get a good prenuptual agreement.

@@ru.kiddingme - Try dating most 40 to 65 year old women in a small city of 10k in NE BC Canada, at least 70% are overweight to obese, and most are 2's to 5's but they think they are 10's. Of the 25+ women that I went on a date with, one was a 7, at least 25% catfished me, and most were 4's who figured they will land a 6 foot tall millionaire, so they used me for a foodie call. Some were even still married and looking for a younger richer new husband. We don't have dance classes here. We do have a seniors yoga class that I was considering trying out, but I am not holding my breath. It's really hard to find quality people on dating sites and to find people that want to get to a second date. Buddy's advice about finding a real life event to join to meet women is good advice. If it's not dancing then, then it could be other things like cooking courses, or something where you will find single women. They'll get a chance to get to know you. You sound like a more nondescript guy, who doesn't wow women on a single date, but over time your attributes will come out. It's not really about money or height. My family is full of short men, who have super mediocre jobs and they all have women. But they met women in real life and things evolved.

Lots of risks having a real girlfriend-being cheated on, getting married and then divorced, finding out that the girl is a covert narcissist, unwanted pregnancy, waste of time and money since familiarity breeds contempt, for example, she gets bored with you, she meets someone taller, richer, better looking than you at work or church…the list is endless and men are finally realizing it-thanks to the women’s movement.

Years ago I met a woman online, met for lunch, and she told me that she had messages on the site from 47 men. I realized then that it didn't matter how "perfect" I worked at making myself or how I scored on all the metrics---the only thing that mattered was this flighty woman's emotions in the moment, as she instantly decided my fate, likely based upon what salad dressing I ordered, or the color of my socks. Men don't get inquiries from 47 women. So, after a period of trying to be the best we can be, we walk away and save our time, money, energy, and yes, emotions.

Thank God for the mid-30s slump in testosterone levels, things have gotten much easier for me lately. I still care, after a fashion, but I'm not broken up about the prospect of being alone for the rest of my life. I suspect that with time I'll stop caring completely, and be content with what I do have, which objectively is a hell of a lot. Wealth, time, and most importantly, freedom and peace of mind. And that crying chick in the vid is absolutely delusional. Just insane. She would be a nightmare to deal with on a daily basis. The crocodile tears followed by rage is a classic combo.

Because if we do, 9 times out of 10 (if not more) we get told to just "man up". Moreover, even if they say they want a man to be more open about their emotions, typically women regard that as a sign of weakness - therefore undatable. A textbook-catch-22 if you will. There are very rare exceptions of women who won't mock a man for showing emotions, or weaponize it against them, but those too typically are not interested in a relationship with that particular man. Those rare women do make for great friends though, but take your time for vetting such individuals - bacause you are opening yourself up for a world of emotional hurt if you don't. Hope your epilepsy isn't giving you too much trouble. Keep it up.

as a 43 year old single, never married 'average' man, everything I've achieved I've done so in spite of the women in my life. I'm blessed to be an extreme introvert where I can say that dating is not worth the very real risks and consequences of sorting through spent, desperate women trying to find an escape from the consequences of their life choices. Modern women offer me nothing but drama, discomfort, discontentment, and financial strain only after I've already done the hard work to be succesful without them. A little bout of loneliness once or twice a year is a small price to pay for the bullets it helps me dodge. Bullets that have left so many friends with destroyed lives that I could not ignore the warnings left by their stories. Eventually, women will realize that you have to get in at ground level and commit if you want to get taken to the top, but this is not that era. This is an era of delusion, misandry, unaccountablility, and self-entitlement. I know there are good women out there, I am sure there are even a couple women who could fit my life and lifestyle, but I am not so good a judge of character that I have any confidence I could find her. I will stay where I am. Thanks.

Well said. I'm 50 now, divorced at 40 from an unfaithful wife. Had to file bankruptcy and start over. Things have gone well the past few years focusing on self improvement (lost 70 lbs and off blood pressure meds). But I haven't dated since the divorce and even though my libido has returned with my improved health, I can't justify re-entering the dating market. As you get older, you really get to know yourself, your interests, what you will or won't put up with etc. You're right though, a couple times a year that loneliness rears its head and it can be rough. That's when I force myself to get outside my man cave and interact with people who have common hobbies/interests.

However, as you get older your options thin out and I was willing to take chances. I will also say I realized that I attracted broken women because I was broken. Now that I've fixed my issues dating seems like a waste of time. I've been single 8 years and I look the same as I did 10yrs ago. I'm working on being better then I was 20yrs ago.

Essentially as a guy when you date these girls you have to be this 24/7 entertainer because the second they decide they're bored with you, is when they'll call plan b to come over. Women not seeing the sad perspective of men who truly put in the effort and want to find a real and deep connection. Men not seeing the side of women being used and tossed aside like a pair of dirty socks. It's not all men are bad or all woman are bad. It seems to me that good men end up with bad women and good women end up with bad men. Also there is no more community. You used to go to a local dance, meet someone and date. You wouldn't just start ignoring the person you were seeing, or show up with someone else at a local event. That was a hard nono. Now? Swiping, ghosting, benching, the quick dopamine hits, meeting someone on an online platform... It's all very unnatural. Sometimes I feel we need to disconnect in order to (re)connect.

Then they get frustrated and angry because women keep choosing the pump-and-dumpers over them while simultaneously whining that there are no nice guys. 🙄 By the way, I was raised to be a nice guy, but I was trained by women to ignore that impulse and be the man they choose, not the one they claim to want. Once I learned that lesson (that it’s better not to care one way or the other about any one of them in particular), I became very successful with women. I honestly wonder if we would've been able to pull this off in today's culture. I'm also thankful we're happily married.

I think that people are so used to treating others as disposable items that they can get tired of in use up and then discard that many speak of one in a relationship and what that means but you were actually living it. You are a good example to those around you of being a decent person and trying to do the best by your family and being a stand-up gentleman. I hope it's not too late for women to realize that people are not disposable items because this whole Chad Tyrone phenomenon is something that they helped create by creating the guys that are fitting those models that they are pursuing instead of the decent people that they're keeping in the friendzone and constantly using

I’m with you. I think it is near impossible for my two sons in their 20’s. One is a CPA and the other is an Electrical Engineer. I think both are great catches, but because they aren’t 6’+ Chads, women don’t give the interest they deserve. One plays baseball in an adult league while the other plays in a band and leads worship in church. Women today all want to be with men at the winners circle, very few want to be a part of getting there.

I appreciate the sympathy. Male loneliness is a rift that creates more ignorance on how to relate as it goes on. Often, in today's society, male loneliness means to be rejected by society because of couples oriented social gatherings. There is less networking and less bouncing off ideas with another. Being single is also a chance for focus and taking action without hinderance which a relationship will interfere with.

basically we have a demographic bomb building. Men and women are not figuring out/being taught how to love and care for each other and being introduced thereafter. Is it their parents who purposely have them in state daycares half of their young life, is it their teachers? Who is supposed to help them? I decided to become a welder on a whim. So I entered a vocational program, and 1 year later I got a job making the most pay in my entire life. What do we as a society do for our young ones whom go ignored, cookie cut, and usually drugged into a paste of a person with no teaching or structured introduction on the complimentary differences between man and woman in school. We instead normalized divorce and casual sex. We got what we wanted, and then what we deserved.

I live with my mom not because I'm broke or dependent on her. I take care of my mom, support her, and spend a large amount of money in the household. In return, my mom helps me with my clothes, cook the food and other house choirs. Don't get me wrong, I can cook, wash my clothes, clean the house and others. But this is called cooperation! Yes, I can live on my own, but I still need to give financial support to my mom, drive her from time to time to her appointments and etc. Can you imagine how inefficient would that be if I am to live out of our home?

32 year old guy here, been in the "keeping an eye on the dating market" mode for the past 3 years - I'm focusing on my body, my mind and my finances first and foremost; I also check the dating apps regularly - but there simply aren't that many truly likable women there anymore. Modern feminism + social media combo has poisoned so many female minds and turned a lot of them into obnoxious and insufferable human beings who simply are not pleasant to be around with. I'd rather be alone and do my own thing than waste my time and energy on these "modern women".

Totally agree - dating apps for men seeking woman seem to be the 'bargain rack' at a clothing store. Some dating advice my mom gave me that actually worked: 1. Meet someone who goes to places you enjoy, you'll have common ground and an easier approach (for me it was church) 2. "Find your compliment" Now that is interesting. How does a person figure out what their compliment is?
@UltimateTS64
@UltimateTS64 10 ай бұрын
@@wanderer5200 I would say that one takes a little more time to figure out, but you gotta make sure to ask some good questions on the first few dates to kinda gauge it. I think it's really a matter of the attitude of your SO, and how they push you to be better. In a sense they could still be your "opposite", but they're more supportive about helping cover your weaknesses, so overall you can both be more well rounded. A silly example is cooking and cleaning. I don't like cooking much, but my gf does, so when we get married, she'll primarily be cooking, while I'll primarily be washing the dishes and cleaning up afterwards. In a sense they'll still be opposite to you in some areas, but I think it's a matter of the attitude of support that makes it different than just having an opposite quality.

Simply put, men are tired of having to work so damned hard to achieve the insanely high standard women demand, whilst being abused for having any standards of our own. All we want is two things, just two. 1. Respect. 2. Peace. Men can be lonely, but can also quite easily live alone, especially to achieve those two fundamental things all people strive for.

Well said. I’d also add to that I worry for my son nowadays in the dating world is that you risk so much financially. Why take that risk. Possibly losing a car a house paying support and alimony. Losing your retirement savings. I just read an article yesterday where law makers are trying to approve a law that your spouse would have to sign as well for any money coming from your retirement accounts even if it’s only in your name. Can they make it any less desirable to get married?
@Sandlund93

I guess respect from women is still possible. But peace was never an option. If you want that you gotta stay single. Or get a robot. Of course, it's all relative but a relationship will always be more complicated (less peace) than a single life. Unless you have a woman that bows to your every whim but that's not really love, that's twisted.
@Sandlund93
@Sandlund93 10 ай бұрын
@RealPeterAndrewNolan Yeah, marriage seems like the ultimate no-no option in life. But our laws (Sweden) are almost as twisted for people who just live together. And I don't know about kids either, I might want em some day but I definitely don't at the moment. It feels like it's something that's expected of you, sort of like the ultimate meaning of life. But I'm not gonna chase it, whatever happens will do so by chance and nothing else. I'm not sure I'd be a good father anyway tbh. Especially not if I have to fight the system just to get a chance. The monetary system itself is the root of all misery and corruption. It's all about money in the end. And everybody is in it for themselves, you get burned if you're not. But it's not actually people who are twisted, at least not most of us. We all just adapt to the conditions set by the system.

Not everyone gets lonely, Many men thrive in a peaceful and tranquil environment. A life is short, with so many paths in a modern world the added responsibility, Time and money that is required by a woman has more competition by default before we even get to the person themselves. These symptoms affecting so many men mentioned are a result of society devaluing men culturally for decades, and generations now.
