In this video, I react to some Tik Tok girls giving toxic dating advice. I don't think these girls should be judged based off of one clip, but if you follow any of this advice...GOOD LUCK! Thank you all for watching and let me know in the comments what you'd like me to react to next.

I pursued my boyfriend first. He was SOOO SHY that he never would have made the first move! He loved that I texted first, asked him to do things with me before he officially asked me out, and generally showed that I was engaged and interested. I didn’t go as far as to ask him out, but I gave him the confidence to finally ask me. Now we’ve been MARRIED for five years!!! I love that man so much!!!

Honestly girls can get really crazy, and even call the cops if you make the first move. There are a lot of guys who have had an experience with that one crazy chick, and as a result ladies are going to have to turn on the welcome lights and hire a marching band because woman clues are not actually noticeable clues.

There is a difference between showing interest and being “thirsty” or desperate. My fiancé and I pursued each other equally and both showed interest. It was so refreshing to not have to question how he felt or what his intentions were and not play games. I was 100% direct with him as well and even kissed him first. We have been together for 2 years now, are engaged, living together and have a very happy and loving relationship. Don’t be afraid to show interest ladies- as long as they are reciprocating and matching your energy

@Hailey you speak the truth about showing interest back. I have stopped talking to a woman before because she didn’t show any interest back. Women might think they are being ghosted but in reality, if you don’t show interest back, I’m gonna think you’re not interested and move on to someone that is interested.

I didn't text my wife back for a full week after the first time we hung out. I did this because all of the advice I got from my guy friends was not to text her to not appear desperate. I have been married to my wife for 15 years now and when we talk about how I didn't text her back she was so upset that I wasn't texting her. Her friends all told her not to text me because she would appear desperate. This lead to us both wanting to text eachother and just sitting there thinking about eachother. Thankfully she forgave me for waiting so long especially since I wanted to text her the next day but didn't listen to my gut. Don't listen to this terrible advice, if you like someone, let them know.

Unfortunately that isn't the message they get from feminism, once brainwashed, it's very hard to see it as false. Not quite the same thing, but not many people turn their backs on religion, they're indoctrinated, the message gets reenforced over and over again and they don't want to see the reality. Same thing happens with the feminist message.

It's not just that though is the problem. Like it's the same with Cluster B personality disorders on the male side, MRA/mgtow trash is the same damn thing, it's being espoused by people that literally have Antisocial Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder for playing games and manupulating people because they're incapable of experiencing real empathy with other human beings, and as a result they're literally doing this just for some type of power and leverage over others and the "thrill" of conquest etc. The problem being, that many young people live online and don't actually know any better between someone who knows what she's talking about like Courtney Ryan, vs. the toxic sludge infesting YT and wherever else. I'm serious, it's like watching some poor 15 yo boy trying to ask "how do I get a girl to like me" and he goes with the lesson "be a complete asshole to her and be nice to her friends." Same dumb crap here, no guy over the age of like 18 is going to fall for this stuff. Most young men are only going to tolerate it up to a certain limit and even then it's not it "working" it's the fact guys can be really patient and persistent. So you being toxic is on the same scale as you having a smack addiction, and he's pursuing you anyway, not because he likes having a smacked out druggie gf, but because he's willing to deal with it all the same. I don't think these girls even understand the degree to which it's not working at all, and most guys are simply putting up with them to a certain limit. A lot of these are actual sociopaths and narcissists is the problem, and they're in turn advising neurotypical women on how to behave with neurotypical men. It just doesn't translate. It doesn't translate because you and your goals are separate from the goals of a sociopath. Sociopaths aren't interested in growing old together with anbyody. They're purely doing this shit for the thrill of having power over others, and to massage their egos. It's going to break down, and it's why these promiscious sociopaths and narcissists churn through so many people, because it's more like a drug addiction to them of trying to have sex with or "conquer" as many people as possible. With that understanding, you will realize as a normal allegedly healthy person mentally and emotionally, these tactics will accomplish literally the exact opposite of what you want and all but guarantee a series of rocky, turbulent shorter term relationships that all invariably fail.

I will never understand "game-playing" and "the excitement of the chase"- that is so so so tiring. I went back and forth with someone for SEVEN YEARS because they used some of these "tactics" on me and at the end of every phase of us being close to getting into a relationship to then crashing and burning.... I was exhausted. I was young and couldn't see that it was game-playing and that it was super unhealthy, and I'm now in a relationship where both parties made it clear from the start that we wanted to keep pursuing things and that we liked each other a lot. Relationships aren't a game and you shouldn't have to use loads of mind tricks to try and make someone interested in you

As a man you automatically think to yourself "I would much more prefer a woman who carries herself and presents herself the way Courtney does." She sits up straight and talks so calm and respectful, this is why so many men take her seriously and respect her, and take her advice seriously, because she does give true wisdom of a real woman. That's the battle of two players, IMHO. The "relationship" between the two sexes has turned into "The Game" (coincidently the title of a book by Neil Strauss) of "cat and mouse" where neither is looking for long term. You being confused tells me that you are not a player because as this channel's owner confirms it is fine for either side to text first. And if I am right and you are not a player, then take this info as a strong caution/warning regarding the modern landscape of dating, because at least if both are players, then they know the game, but if one is not a player, then s/he will become a casualty.

It’s not toxic if it saves you from wasting your time. It’s toxic if you have to keep doing it. I did it once to validate what my intuition was telling me (something wasn’t right) and sure enough I found the cheating and took photos of the messages and images. Sent it to both sides of the family before she could deny/lie about it and that was the end of a long term relationship. Sometimes getting that evidence helps.

Not only did she never show up, but she never responded to my texts. The next day, I hear from a trusted source that she had gone to see a local band with another guy. By lunch, she still hadn’t responded. For once, my common sense clicked and I realized how desperate I was over a response from a woman who had moved on without warning. I blocked her number and social media. It’s been six months and I’ve yet to seek her out. Haven’t even thought of her until I ran across this gem of a video!

As kind as we try to be, speaking the truth about toxic advice and behavior is healthy. It may be a one minute video, but it speaks volumes about the persons personality, beliefs and behavior. These women are insufferable, and unfortunately spreading advice that is unhealthy. Period. It needs to be called out. Thank you for doing this!

The most horrible advice ever given. I said hello to my husband 1st and we've been married for 16 years. We messaged each other equally no matter who started. We've built TRUE LOVE and become True Soulmates and best friends. Our son is 14. Cheating advice? Manipulations? So bad! We never manipulate each other and that's why we are happy, genuine, loyal, honest and sincere with each other.

Or they give you advice on what they want in a relationship neglecting what you may or may not want. Sure you can give ideas of what makes a good relationship but too many people give advice based on what they want in someone or a relationship. Too many people impose or put their world view onto others and think what they want, others want. Example, I've seen many people say "don't move in together until your married." I'm like, everyone doesn't desire marriage nor does every couple make decisions based on marriage. Or when people with these beliefs on marriage find out that a couple lives together without being married. People with these beliefs think a couple like that is doing something wrong or should've waited for marriage failing to realize that not every couple desires marriage at all and every couple is different.

I initiated with my now-husband on a dating website. He's repeatedly told me that I was the only woman that ever contacted him first, and he was super interested because of that. Personally, I was fed up with being bombarded by men wanting to be my sugar daddy (I was only 19 and 40-50 year old men were constantly in my inbox). So I took control and initiated with men that I could actually see myself dating.

My boyfriend is the only man I've ever texted first. Before I met him, I, much like many other women, was left under the impression that "If a guy wants to be with you, he'll text you first.". (Plus, I am an extremely shy and a slightly awkward person.) Most, if not all, of my previous partners were the ones to text first. Coincidentally, none of those relationships worked. Even weirder is the fact that the only man I have ever texted first is now the person I love most. Turns out he started liking me way before the moment we met, he was just too shy to ask me out and was afraid that I wouldn't like him back. We've been together for a year now and I've never been happier. Suffice to say, regarding the blonde girl's advice on desperation and texting, I call BS.

And all this equality matter is ridiculous. We are not equal, we have equal rights which is different... Most men don't play a huge part in the household even today. A woman must work and have a nice career, give birth and be with the children often at the same time without help and without complaining. She also has to be always or often attractive and pleasing. This is really absurd and shady. We should accept that we are different and have to offer different things without degrading one another...

Whether your in a relationship where a man pays the bill or you split it or do what ever is completely up to individual relationships. Either way is completely fine as long as it’s something you both agreed upon. I’m saying it’s hypocritical to claim to be independent and strong but then EXPECT men to pay for your dinner, buy you things all the time, and be the one to contact you all the time. You need to have conversations about this and come to a mutual understanding of how your relationship is going to work before just expecting something. And it goes both ways.

Yeah, but if a friend told me she is always the one that has to text first, I would think, you're into him more than he is into you. Texting him first after you are an established couple is ok but in the beginning, I just hate to see girls becoming the one who is most of the time reaching out to a guy. I feel sorry for them.

Because most women have been raised with the notion of "You are the prize, You are to be the focus in the man's life, Dont settle for less, etc" instead of common sense. It's the sense of entitlement that they have because they get so used to getting what they want so when a guy calls them out, they get mad.

I’ve been in that stage where the girl in 11:30 was talking about. It went on for almost an entire year, and honestly makes me sad because she made me indeed feel like there was such connection, but it came to a point where it became clear she wasn’t interested. I felt like an idiot but that’s the importance of walking away when she lacks consistency. Great vid Courtney 👍🏻

woman in healthy relationships are generally out raising children or having fun with their partner, not posting on tik tok how to "get men". i also love how woman think there needs to be advice on getting men. like just be feminine, and not an absolute chore to be around, and men will flock to you.

The whole "texting first shows desperation" is so dumb. No, texting first does not show desperation. Texting someone and expecting them to text right away and hanging on for the next message is desperate. Texting someone and going about your day, eventually responding back and going on with your day is fine. As long as that back and forth is going on then it's fine.

I LOVE it when a woman texts me out of the blue. It makes me feel special and it eases up the social pressure that men have of, "you got to show interest, but also not show too much interest" to a girl that might not be showing almost no interest in me at all. Also, I try to never use this as an excuse or try to not let it define me, but I do have ADHD. My attention can change in an instant. And when I'm away from people, it's hard to focus on my connection with her, I can't always think about them because my brain needs me to focus on whatever I'm doing. If I'm at work, I need to focus on my work or things won't get done and I might forget about not only women, but some people in general. Not on purpose, but it does happen to me. I might randomly remember someone maybe a few months later and I do want to reconnect with them, but anxiety will also set in, "maybe they forgot about me, maybe they already met someone else, what they might feel annoyed if I text them or they felt hurt because they think I've been ignoring them and they aren't interested in me anymore because they think I was ignoringthem." Those feelings do come out. If a girl that likes me texts me, alot of those feelings go away, I'm able to refocus on them, I can feel confident in trying to make a move or see where things go....... I don't know where I'm going with this anymore..... Thanks for coming to my ted talk....

Hi Courtney! Thank you for doing this video. A long time ago… I used to pick one of those Cosmopolitan magazines and flip to the advice section to see what kind of dating advice they would have for women. Back then it was all about manipulating men… but today it’s what you featured in this video (almost unbelievable!) I believe this is one of the reasons (at age 59) that I’m single and have never been married.
