for the first young man, the judge presses him because he's wobbling around, smiling and giggling, he can't give a straight answer, and at one point the audio cuts in and out but the prosecutor says something about "point two oh six" which would be his blood alcohol level (0.206% BAC) at some time in the past when he was arrested, which is extremely intoxicated. so the judge was giving him a chance to tell the truth. and then gave him another chance to tell the truth.

It's a self checkout not flying the space shuttle. Although I am loath to do so I have even used self checkout in Wal Mart. Yes Wal Mart goes cheap, that's why millions of people shop there, lower prices. The losses through shrinkage, shoplifted or damaged items gets passed on to the customers.
