Jury duty is a key component to a citizen's responsibility to the U.S.'s tenet to render justice to those who have been accused rightly or wrongly. I think it's sad that so many think of it as a burden and imposition on their lives. Would you rather be drafted, like the young men who served and died defending our country during WW II? Many of them who were disqualified from serving because of medical disabilities were embarrassed and even shunned in their communities which suspected they were faking problems to get out of serving and defending right from wrong. Now three and four generations later the relatively safety of sitting in a jurors' box is too much to bear. omg. So one juror appeared to be happy she was chosen? Maybe she was PROUD to serve.

Mostly seniors with multiple health issues there. Had to call out a 90 yr old, who, like Teflon Don, had grabby hands with the females there and also female staff. Ended up having a staff meeting to address it with him. He tried to deny it, but two of us there personally experienced it. Afterwards, he would just sit there with his eyes closed the whole time he was there everyday. His daughter wasn't too happy to hear about it. 😅

Not sure what @ErinBurnett is trying to convey with this interview. The artist stated @3:16 "he was almost militaristic" (referring to the gentlemen from Ireland) and again @3:20 the artist stated [he has] "a real military kind of presence..." But Erin chose to say @6:59 "she (the artist) described [him] as almost militant." A militant can be either a positive or a negative. Which one were you thinking Erin?

Under questioning by former President Donald Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, one of the prospective jurors, who previously worked in New York City law enforcement, disclosed that he knew some of the five teenagers convicted in the 1989 Central Park jogger case, one of the most notorious episodes from Trump’s past. Trump called for them to receive the death penalty and persisted in treating them as guilty long after they were exonerated. When Blanche asked the prospective juror if he held any particular views of Trump outside the courtroom, the man replied: “Going back to Central Park, I knew some of the kids.” He then added: “But I also understood that you have a right to purchase an article,” seemingly referring to full-page newspaper advertisements that Trump placed, shortly after the 1989 murder, calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty. Turns out the New York real estate world isn't so big. Prosecutor Susan Hoffinger questioned the prospective juror who lives on the Upper East Side and said he had read Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal” and works in real estate. The man said he knows people who know Trump - but has never spoken to them about his legal troubles or his criminal cases. That clerk, Jose Alba, became the face of alleged over-prosecution by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who's brought the hush money case against Trump. Alba was charged with second-degree murder and spent time in jail on Rikers Island before his case was dropped amid widespread outcry and lack of evidence. The planned visit is the first campaign stop for Trump since his criminal trial began Monday in Manhattan. Donald Trump’s ceaseless, unfiltered social media habit helped define his presidency and remains integral to his political campaign and his public identity. So it’s perhaps fitting that his lawyers have deeply mined the social media accounts of prospective jurors, dredging up some of their unguarded, off-the-cuff moments for potential signs of bias. Much of the afternoon session so far has been spent parsing various prospective jurors’ old posts. The potential jurors, speaking aloud in the courtroom, responded to a series of 42 questions listed on a questionnaire about their professional and personal lives and their ability to remain impartial in the case. They could still be removed later if either side challenges them. Trump was seated in the courtroom during the selection process Monday, where Justice Juan Merchan made the former president’s harsh reality as a criminal defendant clear: Trump’s schedule isn’t his own.

What an interesting looking woman ~ and an excellent artist under difficult conditions.
The media attention to the individuals in the jury is very dangerous. Really makes people not want to ever be on a jury. They need to be protected and their details not made public.

@@kisha1682 That's exactly my point. Why don't they install cameras in the court room? I think that Americans should witness the proceedings in order to make informed decisions at election time. It's also important for the world to see how the American justice does or does not work.
