Guys like Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, Nikola, Luca, Sabonis, Giannis, Pau Gasol, even Wemby (freak of nature) are all great athletes in their own respect. It is their European roots, however, that adds so much to the American teams they play on. The comparisons in the video fall short, in my opinion, because they focus only on his ability for raw output. Nikola is what he is, because he plays European style basketball - AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL POSSIBLE. He may bare resemblance to American players from the past, but, with just a little examination, you'll see that he bears way more resemblance to Luca, Wemby, and Pau than he does to Bird or Magic.

Poor Mello, but Jokic had 15 siince her started playing basketball - in Serbia we could choose from 4-15 (12 players) and 4 was always reserved for playmaker and 15 for the center... as for Jokic's modesty, he is fully aware of how great of a player he is, its just that he does not need the praise... there are only a few great all time players whose praise he appreciates... In the Balkans, we only praised people who were either half way to success or not sucessfull at all - so telling Michael Phelps he is amazing swimmer is a redundant same with Jokic - he wil lappreciate the constructive feedback but any frivolous questons or statements will just annoy him... its pointing the obvious... I am waiting for Jordan and Magic to praise him ... thee are the people who we grew up idolising... if you claim you are the greatest of all time like Lebron did once (maybe more) you are out ot that discussion... I hope Jokic keeps on performing and stays healthy... Ajde Nikola, niko od nas ne voli svoj posao, ali cenimo to sto smo dobri u svom poslu!
