She bragged about herself constantly and always HAD to be the center of attention. She would insert herself into any situation and schmooze. The way she described identity is outdated. Given our cultural shifts and hyper exposure to media it is actually more “normal” to shift interests, hairstyles, clothes, etc and do them all or shift in phases. It is more acceptable now as a “norm” people want the latest trends that change quickly or go back to a different trend once another is out. Also, her thing on being like the ppl around them, that is also so common. In every social circle the peer pressure ppl feel, again more than ever now, people want to fit in or pretend like they don’t but then mimic the popular group’s behavior who they are trying to be like, whether that’s for a promotion, climbing the social ladder, likes on social media, people will shift to gain something. Those things aren’t that relevant everything else makes more sense in the case but the identity thing did not have relevance, ppl do that and at the end of the day they are still able to choose and made the choices, she made the choice to lie.
@Liminal-Galaxy-System6819 Жыл бұрын
It’s true that people are by default social creatures and herd animals, so-to-speak, and will do things to conform to their peers if it means fitting in (remains of evolution where being part of the pack = survival that hasn’t gone away despite our domination as a species over the planet). However, BPD identity disturbance goes well beyond this causal, normal need to fit in. It’s an extreme form of that insecurity. Firstly, all personality disorders are a disruption of the narrative self. Secondly, the way the narrative self is disrupted and the coping mechanisms to mend it are different from PD to PD. For BPD, they literally feel like they do not exist unless they’re being interacted with. And this isn’t emptiness as in the feeling you get when you’re alone on a Friday night; when Dr. Curry says ‘identity’ she’s really referring to ‘core sense of self’- when a pwBPD feels empty it means dissociation or derealization/depersonalization, along with feelings apathy, anhedonia, etc. They don’t know who they are unless they’re around people. They don’t “exist” unless they’re around people. They *need* to have someone to tether too in order to feel like a person (and the fear of abandonment ties into this, if they’re alone the Void will consume them, and a lot of pwBPD self harm, either as a means to combat their huge emotions and/or as a way to try and feel something when they’re alone/isolated). Yeah, some brown noser in corporate America may suddenly take up an interest in golf when he hears his boss talking about how he likes to golf on Wednesday, but that’s not the same thing as having an identity disturbance as is in the case of BPD. And finally, the idea that you believe that everyone is incredible fluid in personality and easily influenced by outside trends and external factors suggests you either have PD or at the very least PD traits (possibly HPD- part of the diagnostic criteria is easy suggestibility meaning they’re people who follow common trends and are willing to do what others around them want if it means being the center of attention, as Dr. Curry pointed out).

My biggest take away was that by emulating women energetic tones & behaviors I could pick up women incredibly easy. As an experiment it was rather disheartening because I’m really a very masculine male & immediately realized that all these women were attracted to was a relatable reflection of themselves & not actually me. They made me feel like the perfect man, I didn’t agree. Although I found both of these books enlightening in the perspectives, I don’t really apply them, but beware them, & would rather just be myself. I would rather listen to myself/heart, my environment, & listen to God. I can understand why she was so uncomfortable hearing her disorders; she's not used to having her actions exposed, only exposing others. I hope that she continues to work on herself, if not for the people she loves, but, especially for her child.

can we exceute all the people who have these disorders cause I have a feeling they're the reason why the world is such a hell hole.

The way that you wrote that comments says more about you and is the answer to your own question. You are part of the ones you complain about if that’s how you write.

Is she defending Amber or testifying against her? Please don’t tell me this therapist is giving Amber an excuse for being the way she is --like Amber can’t help it ? Amber is self centered, entitled and mean and only wants her way in everything. This behavior needs to be punished.

Borderline personality disorder is very serious. I’m not sticking up for her, but it would explain many of her actions and thoughts.

She was brought in by Depps team I believe and I think this testimony shows that someone with this type of disorder can be abusive, especially if there is no treatment or therapy happening. In my opinion this will help Johnny and he even told heard he thinks she has Borderline Personality Disorder on one of the recordings, spot on really.

The psychologist is not excusing ms.heard she is stating that this may be the reason as to why she is in fact the short tempered, manic, ‘victim’, abuser.

@@KitKatSukiKat I know it is serious and you’re right the histrionic/BPD explains a lot. (I figured she was borderline years ago). This is a behavior issue that probably started early in life when she got her way in most everything so it only “strengthened” her impulses. I grew up with a sister with this disorder, and it should not be an excuse to being abusive, jealous, selfish, vindictive and entitled. For example , a pedophile is most likely born with some of his innate perverted tendencies, but we should not excuse his acting out his perverted desires because, “he can’t help it”. Odds are the desires began early in life where it started out only as temptation. In my book, one needs to “kill it (impulses) before it grows.” We all have our “demons”, but we must not act on them or the desires only get stronger until it becomes reality and people get hurt- including the perpetrator . I’ve seen this happen with every type of sin inside all of us. Amber got away with so much in life in hurting others to feed her ego. The best thing for her is to get punished so she can rethink her path. I think it will improve her as a human being. I think jail time would do her good.

One of Heard’s first testimonies of the trial, she fit this so well. ‘I just… stared at the floor. I was just paralysed and blah blah blah’. Perfect example of saying words and nothing at the same time.
