Courtyard renovation - Lowering an inspection chamber lid - HD 1080p

Third episode in the courtyard renovation series.
In this episode, I go about lowering a manhole cover/inspection chamber to make it level with the original pathway and newly installed brick pavers. I then make a start in cutting the brick pavers around the cover to suit.
It would appear that something has been snooping around...

Thanks 😊 I was quite pleased with the cuts around the manhole cover. Strictly speaking, I should do a border around the edge, but probably won’t as time is against me and I need to get the flat finished ready for letting again

Real shame you could reduce the size of the man hole cover Is there any need to have ti that big?

Newer ones are smaller and round, with plastic risers. But I like old school, not gonna lie. I like the craftsmanship 🤓

Does anyone know how low you can take these chambers? I looking at taking 3 courses of brick out?

Hi Shaun, I reckon Roger Bisby from Skill Builder would be a good guy to ask 🤔 I’ve seen them very shallow, say two courses above the “benching” (the smoothed cement transition between the pipe and the edge of the chamber) I think I used the incorrect term in my video 🧐 How many courses would you be left with?
