Actually I think it isn't only that. I think he never had friends in the first place too BUT I think he never left his room too. That is why we saw him in his room dancing. He wished to leave this place but he is stuck there like the fishes in the aquarium. He is in his own little aquarium (his room) and he can't leave this place where his parents fight all the time and he is alone. So the only thing he can do is imagine how it would be outside with friends.

some analysis abt the mv and the song if u wanna read:: The whole MV is not abt the typical love story of a guy and a girl but instead it revolves around Family, Friends and self. " In this world with full of zero, you are my one and only " which interpreting abt parents caring, loving and understanding for their child. As we can see in the MV, yeonjun’s parents were arguing, it's always like that, that's why it triggered Yeonjun's brain which cause him to have a mental illness ( idk what exactly it is, but it's close to HALLUCINATIONS) we could also see Yeonjun driving, and on his wrist is a green ribbon, which symbolizes and logo of MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS ( YJ is portraying someone who has an mental illness with all those hallucinations that he went through and raising an awareness by having his own ribbon on his wrist) He wants to escape the bitter and painful reality of living in a toxic environment that's why he created a fantasy where he's with his friend and happily hanging out with them. But the truth is, it's just all part of Yeonjun's imagination and hallucinations. We can see him staring at the beta fishes floating, those were the members inside of it bc they are just figments of his imaginations. this (0x1) is reminding us that in the world that is full of uncertainty and emptiness, we just need that 1 person to understand us! The fishes in the fish tank represent the boys in this world. They desperately want to leave the fish tank and explore the outside world. It also symbolises the envy yeonjun feels as he sees the fish with other fishes together. While he is all alone and the other boys are just his hallucinations. Yeonjun is the main character of this mv. I'll explain you my theory from my perspective. Yeonjun suffer from mental illness that is probably caused by his toxic household (you can see scene where the parents were arguing). He got tired of it and he take the car key and went out with his friend. They hang out, play together and do many stuff. In the end of the mv, you'll see him waking up by himself, it's basically because he suffer the hallucinations type of mental illness, so basically he was all alone and his friend were never with him, he's just imagining things. There's the lyric "take my hand, please use me like a drug" i feel that this lyrics was from the other member for him, like the other member want yeonjun to escape from this unwanted reality, and just used them like they're a drug so that yeonjun can be happy, by "please use me like a drug" it's like the member want him to just imagine doing things with them if that could make him/yeonjun becomes happy There's a lot of gold fish in the mv, and basically the lonely gold fish is yeonjun and the many gold fish in the tanks are like the other member Correct Me If I'm Wrong, And If some Moa Wanna Add Their Theory, U Can Reply In My Comment Too😁
