It makes sense that the sangheli and the humans would team up eventually. The sangheli were always TOO GOOD for the covenant. Think about it, the only other warriors who could match their strength might have been the lekgolo but they dont really care about war so much as forerunner stuff. The sangheli were always so out of place, they were the essence of what the old covenant stood for and it seemed like they would always join with the humans whos military values honor integrity and loyalty the same that they do.

The elite's concept of honor is a lot different than that of humanity's (or rather the UNSC's) though. The only reason the elites joined forces with the UNSC was because they were slightly more intelligent than the other Covenant races and were semi-wise to the true purpose of the rings, which of course led to them being replaced. If they hadn't been betrayed by the prophets, they probably would have finished eradicating humanity imo.

@@blueguy2128 They are totally different. The elites shun medical assistance because they believe that refusing to die in combat is for cowards, for example. And yes, they absolutely kill civilians. In elite culture there is no such thing as a noncombatant. You're either a warrior or a coward, and both are fair game. It's how they get away with glassing billions of Humans from the safety of spacecraft without impugning their "honor".

When you think about the Battle of Reach, the Covenant might have succeed in destroying it but they lost over 60% of the force they sent in doing so. This is pretty embarrassing given how technologically advanced the Covenant were over humanity.

@shcdemolisher Agreed, I'm angry because "good enough" is ABSOLUTELY UUUNAAACCEPTAABLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEit should be better. Halo CE Elites are your perfect Sangheili all around to base new designs on. Their mandibles make scientific sense, their heads are genuinely snake/dinosaur like, which fits the nicknames theyre given, and they're very muscular and strong yet lean and agile. I would like a mixture between Halo CE Elites and Halo Reach Elites. Give ornate epic armor that fits the true Sangheilis morphological form which again is absolutely SHREDDED yet lean and agile and their culture. I really like the idea of classic CE Sangheili battle suit being separate from the more culturally significant armor seen in Reach. Sangheili demanded they maintain as many of their own traditions as possible in the Covenant after all and many fleets were made up of all kinds of different Sangheili shipmasters who differed just as humans but were still a military. I feel dumn explaining that but people dont see that in Halo. Halo was based on our reality.
