Cover of “Peter Gunn” by The Cramps

We’re excited to share the video of our FIRST song as a family band, Peter Gunn by The Cramps.
Peter Gunn, originally composed by Henry Mancini, was the theme song from the late 1950s television show by the same name. The song inspired American rock and roll guitarist Duane Eddy to create his version of the song in 1959. It was then reimagined by The Cramps in 1997, substituting the saxophone with Poison Ivy’s famous Gretsch 6120 guitar.

I realized pretty quickly after the video began that this wasn’t The Cramps with Lux and Poison Ivy. Still I dig the cover and the sound. Really have that classic surf rock feel but with a classic OG California punk scene. Plus the whole family vibe is both so cool and so wholesome, I played in many bands with my brother (who’s always been my best friend to this day) so I can only imagine having a family band…

I enjoyed that. Listened all the way through. I have a little channel of drum covers. I can't say my channel is going well. Very few views. I was considering doing "Peter Gunn Theme", but I can't top this, so I'm gonna just leave it alone. Good job on the drums. I liked that cymbal crash on the ending and the snare " attack" earlier. And much better at tuning! Yes, time is much better than the broken metronome syndrome we heard on Foot Foot...Bravo to the younger half of your quartet! Musical education is vastly undervalued in many schools, while research confirms the huge gains across the realm of mental and emotional development. I am a professional musician of five decades' tenure; at age 16, driver's license to Union card to first paycheck (from the local symphony) was less than five months...all thanks to music educators and family support.

The kids both gravitated toward music from an early age so we've woven that into our family time (they also play different instruments at school). Thankfully we're in a school district (and community) that values the arts!
