On a March in 1985, a few legendary singers from the American music industry came together to raise funds for Ethiopia.
This is a cover tribute from God's Own Country to the thoughts, the actions and the music of these legendary singers.

Never can one imagine in the wildest of dreams that there can be vocalists who can do so much justice when paying tribute to a much beloved and worshipped anthem. Very few can dare to take on something that has been inscribed in the heads of millions by Paul Simon, Dionne Warwick, Oates, Springsteen, Diana, Ray Charles, Belafonte, K Loggins, Willy Nelson, Billy Joel among other equally iconic legends some of whose names I know I am missing or forgot. Absolutely stunning rendition. It's truly heartwarming to witness the legends of Kochi's rock scene back in action. Traven's vocals gave me chills in the best possible way, while every member's performance added their own magic to the mix. And of course, George Peter, a personal favorite of mine, added an extra layer of brilliance to this song. A remarkable collaboration, indeed!

Just the other day I was watching the Netflix documentary “Greatest night in Pop” and was reminded of the wonderful track “We are the world”. You guys really brought it back to life with such a wonderful tribute to an all time classic. Great to see old friends Viju, George, Vinod and all the legends of Kochi coming together. Really good effort from a group of vocalists based in a non English speaking part of the globe . Some great talent . Although a couple of vocal styles that did not fit in well. I am sure they must have got that 🙂. No lack of commitment though. I wish there were more individually sung lines bringing in that unique and surprising vocal elements. The chorus section towards the end is a tad long . I really hope they do UK for Africa , Dionne warwick - for Aids -'Thats what friends are for' , the song "Maybe its time" by Artists for recovery' for people recovering from opioid addiction (more recent release ) or any memorable pop or rock song . Talent with great potential!🤘🏼

Awwwsome !!!!! and so beautifully rendered. Each one of you were sounding so beautiful. Great initiative. Its high time we bring back western music into Gods own country. Rock and pop has lost its charm with all the noisy modern music now available. Melody and lyrics matters and with each one of you knowing what is Rock and pop should take it up as a mission. I see few 13 AD members and the days when 13 AD rocked the rock lovers in India, still remains as a treasured memory. Anyways thanks to each one of you and let me reiterate once again, each one of you did a commendable performance. God bless you all and God bless Rock and Pop in Gods own country. Love you guys. GREAT INITIATIVE !!!! Darshan you are the only one, whom I know personally, so loved seeing you as a part of this fabulous fraternity. Being very frank, me personally is fed up of the Malayalam folk rock. Yes there are some good bands making some sensible music but not all are good because not all knows or understands music..... Folk songs is a separate genre and Rock & Pop cannot be served in the same plate. We can never think of relishing Margherita Pizza with coconut chutney😪. Both are good if they stay separate. 🥰
