I appreciate how thorough you are with the prep work. The key to every job is preparation. Making a list makes sense. I had a 1968 Camaro as a kid and was dropping the motor but forgot to fill the radiator... ouch. Starting a rebuilt motor dry causes me to cringe when I think about it. I caught it in time but still... make a list while reading for bed and jot down tasks when they dawn on you.

Just gotta say these videos are great. I have a 454 sitting in my garage pulled apart right now that needs new pistons since the compression is only 7.9:1 and everything else for it. But watching your videos has made me start to think about buying a lm7 or lq4 engine, adapter plates, and getting an LSA for my 66 chevelle.

Hey man nice video! I currently have my lsa torn apart, changed the isolator and pulley, and drained the oil, gave it a good cleaning, now need to put back together. Do u know how much oil I need to order to fill this or about how much oil it should take before it starts to drain out the back from being completely empty?

i go with the GM supercharger fluid one bottle.. fill it til it starts to come drip out and your done.. keep me posted on the build.. let me know if you have any questions..
@RecklessRegal7 жыл бұрын
I would highly suggest a solid isolator while you have the snout off of the supercharger. The two piece spring loaded isolator that GM uses sounds like hell at idle and cruise. LPE makes a solid piece for under $100, it's well worth it.

Do I need to replace the oil if I remove the snout. .....I bought a new gm unit and I literally put less 500mi and it already sounds like the isolator/front bearings are on their way to lunch. : ( ..... I'm curious to see what kinda isolator they put in there!!!!!....I bought it in Oct of 2020, no telling when gm built it though........arrrrrggghhhh

That's sweet bro!!! I'm going to put a new trans in the Regal for some reason I cannot get it to down shift with the pedal I played around with the detent cable kit from bow tie overdrive to no avail!!! I had it built back in 07 so ain't no telling what's wrong with it!!!
@Coverman667 жыл бұрын
what type of tranny is it?> 700 r4?
@roberthanna44007 жыл бұрын
coverman66 yep!! itll shift if i do it manually but not with the pedal
@roberthanna44007 жыл бұрын
coverman66 I have a special kit from bowtie overdrives that allows you to adapt the cable to the throttlebody. the cable that comes with the kit is adjusted by turning to nuts I moved it all the way out and all the way back in and everywhere in between and just cannot get it I also had to drop the pan and put a spring inside where the detent cable hooks up to I tried to email bowtie overdrive but have not heard back from them
@lacboiatl5 жыл бұрын
Just subscribed. I see boost district has the kits for sale. I don't know if 3000 plus is a deal for one but cheaper than most supercharger kits I've seen for lq4 engines and the only other in this ball park is torque storm kit. I atleast with a lsa I won't need to do a tbss intake since it bolts directly to the engine

Good job! So, you can buy these now $500-800 from ebay, just lower part, top, upper intake with intercooler is separate, another $400-500..., anyway, usual part what is wrong with these is that coupler, right?/ Those you can buy for about $20-30 from ebay. Somebody told in here, youtube, you could use AC Esther oil, #100 in a supercharger, is that true?? Anyway, this is good for any Chevrolet V8 engine, even not Cadillac or Corvette?? What engines you can put this in?? I was thinking to put one in my Infiniti FX 45, which I am boring 5 litre, with performance pistons, and cams! I should modify/ make the intake adapter, plenum...., maybe too much work?? I might do with M122, same as F150 and newer mustangs have, easier?? What do you think?? Also, they say that compression rate should be lower, like 9.5, when you put Supercharger in?? Mine is like 10.4, will be, that should work, right?? I wonder, what is compression rate in these Cadillac/ Corvette, 6.2 litre engines?? Do you know?? Thanks, youtheman =)
@Coverman667 жыл бұрын
whats good Eero, you can get some of the pieces cheaper but you are in the ball park.. im putting the AC delco supercharger fluid in the blower because its what cam from the factory.. sounds like you will be having a ripper.. i dont think you will have any issure installing this engine.. id try to go with a t56 6spd, but it sounds like your on the right track.. keep me posted..
@Eeropolvasti7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, soo....., you don't think, my compression rate= new rate, which will be 10.2/1, is not an issue, if I put M122 in there, since I will have intercooler, and also methanol injection also to keep it cooler??? If you say :Yes, i will do it !!! Just keep PSI/ boost at 10 the highest, right?? Thanks, youtheman =)
@Coverman667 жыл бұрын
im at 9.6.1 not to far off and with the 2.55 pulley i have im a lil under 11 lbs of boost. without meth, if you go meth you will be more than fine .. thanks going to make some serious power.
@Eeropolvasti7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I believe / trust you , of course !!! I don't like these " engineers", who read a book, and just "compare" numbers, and say: no, you can't do it, it says so...here in a book!!" If I keep engine cool enough, with intercooler, meth injection, and low, maybe 10?? boost, I should be fine, right!!?? Let you know, how it turns out,.....could be the fastest SUV, 4 WD, in Palm Beach County, Florida,......who knows ;o)) My question is, where the "hell" can I get my PCM programmed??? Should I send it somewhere?? Because my Infiniti is 2004, I can't even get tuner/programmer for it??? That is what they are telling me...., after 2005, there is plenty is tuners available??? What do you think??? Thanks, youtheman =)
@Eeropolvasti7 жыл бұрын
Can you put this supercharger into 1997 Trans Am, with LT1 engine on it?? Cams changed, heads ported!!! Is compression rate an issue?? Thanks, youtheman =)
@Coverman667 жыл бұрын
im not sure what type of charger would go on the LT1, but some company must make a kit.. i would consider a LS install with a LSA before i put a charger on a LT unless you get a smoking deal..
@shoegod23117 жыл бұрын
so when I install my LSA charger I'll have to have use gaskets on my charger as well as my dirty dingo conversion brackets
@Coverman667 жыл бұрын
the LSA gaskets are pressed on the LSA.. you could remove them and repressed them if you really need to. but if they are a lil bent out of shape i would try to straighten them out..
