I would usually say lands first, as control decks especially can be quite punished for having bad mana, plus you'll need good lands anyway for other decks. Sweepers are always a good investment in this aggressive meta, and Shark Typhoon is a very good tool for many control decks, so also worth a few wildcards.

Saulti has etrata enigmatic incarnation. Saulti is a good color combo. Blue IS my most played color. I don't know what I'm saying anymore, ecept CGB why not try enigmatic incarnation etrata and a bunch of 3 mana enchantments. It kills aggro decks and punishes decks with no removal. I'll put my list in a comment eventually.

It's pretty easy to punish no removal decks to be fair.... Also Etrata rotated out and CGB plays primarily standard. Etrata is also my favorite card. :)

You are choosing to exile either odd or even mana cost creatures, so it is situational. You want to choose the one the removes the most, and best, number of your opponents creatures.

If you watch at 23:00. He chooses odd because Swarm Shambler and Yorvo are both odd. Every other creature is even, tokens are 0 mana so even. He removes his opponents two best creatures and his remain.

You have to pay attention to what your opponent is playing as their biggest threat against you. From there you need to consider the board state and what will be exiled. I usually go with if the opponent will lose 3 more permanents than me, I would use it then. Also you need to consider if any of the permanents in play have any special abilities that will alter your desired effect. I know it's a lot to think about. Extinction event is a spell not to be used lightly.

i just had like 6 games where i only did draw 2 lands every draw even after mulligan only 2 lands .... i run 3 tomes , 4 birth of meletis and 23 lands and i have constant losses from lack of landdraw xD WTF is this game ? i just started a week ago and i really just want to quit tbh

Up the land count and maybe drop a meletis. Do you run scry lands and other forms of card draw? Assume you are a control deck. Also assume you are stopping in your upkeep to scry with the tome. Sucks when you hit a part that feels like you are getting screwed. Would look to increase land count and also include the spell lands as they really help.

feanorfeuergeist ah okay. I would want around 24/25 but lands as said with duel purpose. White naturally struggles with getting lands due to lack of card draw or deck filtering. We do have the ability to go down that route however I wonder if going into a second colour with drawing options would be more viable.

feanorfeuergeist yeah that can happen especially in BO1 where things get skewed weirdly. I have found in the years of playing Magic that it's rare to have the perfect hand and usually hands are good to average. Key is recognizing when a hand may look good but is actually the wrong keep. The meta is general fairly mid range in BO3 with many decks having the ability to grind out games or close them in a couple of turns when they get to that position. If your deck is control then it has to be that. If it's aggro then it has to be that. The cards you've listed are great but I would say not to have them in the same deck. Heliod wants lifelink creature attacking or gaining life. Birth of Meletis is to stop aggro and get you that extra land.

@@mistere5857 But if you have the open mana available, why not use it? You can’t afford to keep green mana open every turn anticipating your opponent may make use of their graveyard. It’s called being proactive instead of reactive. Edit: removing a fabled passage is definitely overkill, but a ram through is a decent removal spell.

@@KevinOnEarth_ it slows down the game and can be a bad decision. This used to happen with Tymaret all the time too. I've played against people who left open mana to exile cards instead of playing their hand. Some decks it makes sense to exile certain cards, but against mono green? Nah.
