EDIT: SO - based on many comments I've received, I now know that there were test screenings featuring the frozen megatron, and there are Rise of the Beasts toys that feature the same design (different render tho, I'm still assuming the model they're using is based on an unfinished original. There's still not much for the others, but in the fanstream were they talk about sunstreaker they mention the original model was "GIGANTIC" on the scale chart for the characters but they changed it to match the other autobots. That's a weird anecdote to me and does make the idea of a sunstreaker design existing more credible. Yes, they were going to go full Animated with the Blitzwing and Lugnut duo.

There was a Tiny Turbo changer based off of Bumblebee Megatron, so that proves the concept art is real. Sunstreaker and the Cassettes could have been made up though due to lack of any evidence.

BBM Megatron did have a model in the movie bc there are reports of the scene being in test screenings. As for the lack of tangible concept art, I assume secrecy has something to do with it, seeing how sometimes, certain concept art is locked away for ages while the rest is released to the public.

He’s likely a left over from the Toys R Us exclusive TLK toyline, he fits right into the aesthetic of those figs, but because of everything that happened to Toys R Us he was likely pushed back and included in SS. Weird but honestly a really cool figure I definitely recommend if you can find for cheap.

The thing that could lead credibility that there was a BBM Megatron CGI model is that descriptions for some alleged test screenings (which reported on deleted scenes that you can find on the home release long before the movie had even hit home release, which lends some credibility to those reports) said that there was ending sequence where Sector 7 agents talked about they can't let the Autobots and Decepticons know about what they have hidden and the camera then panned to reveal Megatron frozen body but looking more like his G1 self than his Movie 1 self.

And for the other guys, i remember someone mentioning some are based on concept art and some will just imagine what the characters would look like in that design philosophy. It can be a good thing to have some blank slate character, you can like them solely by design and won't stop liking them because of a character trait or the way they or their universe is depicted. we can pair up Concept Megatron and Reactivate Optimus and it wouldn't break any canon since both don't exist. Kinda like MP-10 with the promotional Optimus design (the realistic G1 one with wheels on the legs, grey instead of white mid section, yellow arrows and a white stripe in the truck mode) that never actually appeared anywhere in media.

Transformers' first bout of slow death was actually before the Beast era. For some reason the G1 era was so milkable that the Japan part of the brand made their extension of the G1 cartoon. I'm not sure if it worked during airtime, but as an outsider seeing in, I don't think it had nostalgia value. The Beast era itself was kind of an experiment to revitalize the brand; I'm not a Beastformers fan and i can't tell if it worked in its airtime, but i can tell that it was a treasure trove of nostalgia. This made Transformers wake up for a bit, but then it went back to sleep. Even Unicron being given more screentime with Armada, Energon and Cybertron didn't really work. What kept TF from outright dying was probably the propaganda made by fans for fans; they went wacko for a bit and made their own stories, even. Remember, Shattered Glass (Autobot bad, Decepticon good) was originally a fanmade story, and the fact that it became a tad more popular these recent years meant that the propaganda worked in the sense that the fans held on. And because the fans held on, they got an insane reward - the Golden Age. I don't think many would agree with me on this, but Michael Bay should be credited a bit. He made Transformers something even non-fans know and care a small bit about, even when the way he did is sometimes sus and mostly trashy, yes, but he did bring Peter Cullen back as Optimus Prime, and ever since, good-old Pete kept voicing the Autobot leader and much-beloved character for years after 2007. Michael Bay wasn't the guy who brought in the Golden Age, nor was he the architect of it, but hey, he's the first horseman that descended from the mountainside. Unlike in the G1 era, where there's just one flavor of Transformers, there's at least 3 now, namely Bayverse, Aligned and Animated. Animated was a treat to the longtime but casual fans, while Aligned was for the hardcore. Bayverse was mainly there to get people to like Transformers. But not all things last forever, and it's easily seen with the Bayverse series' fall from grace, especially The Last Knight. The staff wanted to rest on their laurels, milk the brand without making new banger content. And of course, because they were tired of cultivating their brand, everybody else became tired of caring, too (aside from the hardcore fans, who even made it their job to care, to some extent). We are at this point. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Transformers once went dormant, today's not exactly a unique occurrence. For this brand to survive, all that had to be done is put a new twist to the "preserve the fanbase" strategy. I mean, if Team Fortress 2's fans can hold on even when Valve pretty much gave up on the game, TransFans surely could do the same, even if for a shorter period. Part of this strategy is already out there, but the problem lies in that they are whining to HasBro about its tiredness when it comes to the brand; that to me is the wrong approach. The right one is to act semi-independently; nudge HasBro here and there, "man, here's a cool concept, I bet y'all would like it", but mainly moonshine some content. Make fanmade content, promote the toys, get people to keep appreciate. Reinstate the propaganda, keep the fans hoping. If that fails to tell HasBro to get its scraps together, at least it'll preserve the good things that came with Transformers. We gotta be hopeful doomers. Transformers: Reactivate got cancelled, but we got the goated Transformers One.

I know I saw listings for other figures for Reactivate but I didn't see them in the 2025 listings, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were canceled or, for some reason, delayed. I was very interested in the Lifeline that was listed. Speaking on the game itself, I expect it was canceled, not just because of internal conflict, but also because of the faliures of fellow live service games Kill The Justice League and specifically Concord.

Funny thing about concept Bumblebee Megatron is that it got 2 toys, allegedly based on the same "concept art": Hasbro's Studio Series 109 and 3rd party Monocrat Megatank. Both do look Megatron-y and that's pretty much the only similarity... I'm quite willing to believe the "concept art" was a vague sketch at best, total BS at worst. 😂 I'm not complaining, I'm glad that both exist. As for Reactivate Starscream's black pieces and slightly asymmetrical wings, this is apparently due to the fact that the Transformers were found by the human resustance after the "Legion" invaded Earth. They brought them back online and hastily patched them up with whatever material they could find.

I've got both two-packs, and to be honest, Soundwave is the only one that I'm not entirely enamoured with. Prime, Starscream, and even Bee are absolutely brilliant figures in my book. I think I'm gonna repurpose Bee as someone else in my collection, but I dunno who yet (Centurion's a distinct possibility, though). 3:20 I had trouble with that roof part myself for ages, but realised eventually you don't actually need to push it through like that. If you transform all those torso parts kinda all at the same time, that windshield/hood panel rotates back and settles in the top of the backpack. 3:55 If you don't want them on the hood, the guns also plug into the back of his forearms (the magazines line up with his elbows), and still store in vehicle mode.

Would be so nice to have those toys. But I think I'll have to stick to whatever Transformers toys I can afford, unless there's a Transformer I want whether they're Deluxe, Voyager or whichever.

so far we hear that black marking.. is patch up repair with any part they have in that apocalypse theme game was?? now i need to hunt down that toy.. oh well. For concept art megatron can do made fan made and fan mode vehicles close to the concept art vehicles too.

Lo admito me hubiera gustado ver cómo serían otros personajes de este juego aunque sea como figuras cuando ví el tráiler me emocioné como nunca pero ahora viendo que lo cancelaron me decepcioné y con los studio series de personajes que no aparecieron me gustan los diseños pero al ser los diseños concept arts hace perder un poco el propósito de la línea studio series que nos daba a los personajes de la películas PD:en Latinoamérica a studio series se le conoce de varias formas mochila series,concept art series y Bumblebee series

Iirc the megatron design was a thing since sometime in 2018 I don't remember in what form but they released a bit of merchandise with a megatron design surprisingly close to concept megatron

toys have been a joke for a while cannot walk into a store and buy them Walmart was charging $60 for the $34 Legacy Vector Prime and most the other toys never showed up in toys. The Primes wave will be the same.
