I recently just got out of the hospital for finding out that I have a DVT in my left upper calf. The pain is horrible but I will definitely implement these exercises into my daily routine. Life is a trip and just 3 months prior I had a 20lb malignant tumor removed from the same leg but upper hip area and covid afterwards. "Just keep on, Keepin on" - Joe Dirt.

I was just diagnosed with a big and long blood clot in the hip and this is exactly what the physio recommended for the recovery! Unfortunately they could not determine why I had the blood clot as I am physically active. What a shame as now I am stuck with taking blood thinners for the rest of my life. On the bright side I do not have that long to live, life expectancy is not very long in my family so........ have a pleasant day.

I hope this helps you and my best wishes to you indeed!

Is he being irresponsible?? should I get some stockings?? Im doing the excercises. I get pins and needles on my feet when I get up to go to the bathroom...
@michellephysio2 жыл бұрын
@Charmedlife21 when on bed rest it’s a good idea to do calf exercises regularly provided you don’t have a clot in your calf already. Calf and leg exercises in bed can prevent clot formation so they are a good idea to be doing hourly. Best to ask your doctor about the need for compression stockings.

@Michael unfortunately no, these exercises are for individuals that have Covid 19 and are too unwell to move in and out of bed. The blood clots caused by the Covid 19 vaccination don't result from a lack of movement, therefore these exercises will not benefit unless the person is relatively immobile. To the best of my knowledge graduated elastic compression stockings are helpful in preventing clots caused by immobilization for example post-operatively see this Cochrane review paper www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD001484.pub2/abstract

So does walking a lot prevent clots because I hear of althetes and runners getting them? I work from home and sit all day so I know I'm at risk but what is the actual root of this if pretty anyone can get them? Is it due to not enough ankle and calf circulation?
@michellephysio2 жыл бұрын
@Indigo Cosmic yes one of the major causes of clots in the calves is due to poor circulation in the calf/leg musles. The calf muscles act as pumps and when they contract they actually squeeze blood sitting in the deep veins back through the circulatory system towards the heart. When the calf/leg muscles are still for an extended period of time for example plane travel, after surgery, with illness and bed rest then the calf muscles often stay relaxed which is when a clot can form. This is why anyone can get a clot however some individuals are more predisposed than others to clots for medical reasons. The simple way to prevent clots is through regular calf pump exercises/ankle movements when sitting/resting for extended periods of time. Hope this helps! 🙏

Yes after birth the uterine prolapse can recover - if it was protruding all the time previously and now some of the time then the condition is likely improving. Also you should notice reduced symptoms (dragging/bulging) plus being able to hold your Kegels longer, stronger, and do more repeated exercises with improvement. Keep up your good work & let me know if you need anything further

Hey Anjali would you like some really simple exercises for mid section tummy? Strengthening or flattening, what is your goal?
@anjaliagrawal40953 жыл бұрын
@@michellephysio thank you for always replying back. Actually I would like to have both. Is that possible? I have been working with your exercises and a few other simple exercises and there has been a change but I feel the midsection below the chest and above the navel needs working.
