COVID Closed My College While I Was On An ASL Trip In DC

Welcome to the sixth day of my Culturally Immersive ASL trip to Gallaudet. I am a hearing college student learning ASL!
Let's reflect back to March 2020: PRE-COVID
I'm spending a week without any speaking---all of my communication will through using ASL only!
Here in my sixth day, I got to go to Ford's Theatre and see the exact place where President Abraham Lincoln sat just before he was sadly assassinated. The museum built into the theatre now taught me so much. We went to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch which would have been awesome, except that was when I get the email that my college was shutting down due to COVID...Sooo that pretty much ruined the rest of the day. BUT, Mt Vernon was our last stop of the day and it was one of my favorite locations of the trip, it helped distract me from my sadness and was just so beautiful!
This evening we were invited to attend a Small Bible Study Group on campus, I think it was exactly what I needed at that moment as all the students at Gallaudet were struggling with emotions regarding college closing as well and just seeing (because ASL) the encouragement from other students and the leader was so so awesome.
All in all it was a day I will NEVER forget, and that is for a lot of reasons haha...But truly it was a good day and a lot of awesome things happened as well as the world falling into chaos:D
