@Awenda People need to survive. Exactly. We grow enough food to feed 10-12 billions of people, so Perhaps it’s a better idea to stop farming animals, so that we no longer need to feed animals and kill them afterwards. We can end the world hunger by going vegan and respect everyone’s desire to stay alive. It doesn’t matter how happy their lives were if they will have their throats cut open. They trust us, we betray them. That’s almost worse.

@Awenda I never said farmers are bad people or that I am not thankful for them. I am. We all rely on farmers for our food. And it doesn’t have to involve taking the life of an animal unnecessarily. We can’t eliminate suffering, but we can minimize it. Children are suffering from starvation, while we fatten up billions of animals to fill our stomachs with their flesh and secretions that they produce for their species. I have been on animal farms. And it’s safe to say our planetary companions who exist with us (not for us) don’t deserve to have their throats cut open for someone’s 15 minute sensory pleasure. All that matters, is that we as sentient beings all feel pain. And with an ability to feel pain, comes a desire to avoid it. We should respect that and create a world where justice, compassion and dignity towards animals is not extreme or militant, but a norm.
