I used to walk past his house in East Molesey, Surrey when I was a l kid in the 1980s but didn't know anyone famous lived there, it was an old house made of brown bricks with a large oak tree in the front garden less than a mile from Hampton Court Palace, he died in 1996 and it was demolished a few years later and now one of the new houses on the site has a blue plaque dedicated to him.
