'My fight to romanticise a Diesel! The turbulence of the "Black Five" on the left, the coaling plant on the right, together with the "Movement" in the sky and the exaggerated super-elevation of the track were all carefully thought out ingredients to give "Condor" a majesty which I feel she barely warrants' - Terence Cuneo

The location of filming appears to align with photographs I found elsewhere of Wellingborough railway station, on the Midland main line out of St. Pancras, as it looked before post-1970s rationalisation, complete with goods sidings and the adjoining locomotive depot, which at the time of this newsreel, according to the British Rail Database website, the 9F loco featured was allocated. Regards, Samuel Farris.

Oh the noble British Rail 9F steam engine! HaHa. This film shows just how disgustingly dirty and dreadful the age of steam actually was!
