He had 2 different bags of mushrooms for 2 reasons: 1 bad had completely normal mushrooms in it and the other with the trippy shrooms, if a cop comes up he can open the normal shroom bag and have them examine them (thus not getting arrested), and when he's selling large quantities to people trying to buy the trippy shrooms, he can give them a bag filled with 90% normal shrooms and 10% trippy shrooms at the top of the bag, so people don't realise they've been ripped off until he's long gone

@@no1guy825 well idk where he got the info but I personally know quite a few dealers and that is something they do if they think someone can be swindled. Let's say its a coke deal with some college kids, these a typically suburban types who might know about these types of scams and just wanna get high and due to their youth and upbringing you have less reason to fear retaliation, its pretty common to sample the product of a new dealer before exchanging cash, if the dealer is trying to pull a fast one the 1st baggie he pulls out is the real product and most if not all of the rest are either pure bullshit or cut so much you'd barely get a buzz. Always pick your own sample and make sure its not the 1st couple if you wanna lower your risk of getting screwed over

This episode is so silly and fun. Ein eating the mushrooms and hopping away is one of my favorite little moments. Also this episode has got some nice nods and references to famous blaxploitation films in it! Also, to clarify something for you guys, the Syndicate that was referenced in Black Dog Serenade isn't the same one that Vicious is associated with. The one that Jet's old ISSP partner and the assassin Udai were involved with was called the "European Syndicate" and was based on Europa, a moon of Jupiter. The syndicate with Vicious and relating to Spike's history is the "Red Dragon Syndicate" and it is much bigger and based on Mars. Easy mistake to make and not a huge deal, but I felt like it should be pointed out to avoid confusion. Different syndicates in different areas like gangs/mafia families basically. Now I am excited for the next episode now. Has one of my favorite scenes in it! Anyway, love the reactions, keep it up!

Ya'll probably missed the one line in Domino's ship where he's picking the mushrooms and he complains that "this one's bad." Looks like he had some shrooms that were "good" to sell, and some "bad" ones that he would just throw in anyway. Lucky the cop scanned the bad one, but the crew is going to have a hell of a journey.

The bad mushrooms were the type that got that coffin guy's brother killed. The shrooms the Bebop crew got were all regular shitake; the dealer most likely used the bag as either a decoy in case he got scanned by cops or he was gonna scam someone like they said in the video.

This is probably the funniest session of Cowboy Bebop. Much of Ed in this one and it's always a good thing. :) And many of the songs that I like the most are in this episode... Chicken Bone, The Egg And I, Mushroom Hunting.

The shrooms were mixed up so the dealer could evade detection. At the end of the episode, Ein ate one of the hallucinogenic ones again, hence the hiccup.

Do you remember the part where the grower said that the mushroom was "bad", and picked it an put it in the bag. He's a grower of illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms, the ones he would consider "bad" are the plain edible ones. Ed just happened to catch him weeding his garden, and so all he had on him were the two bags of plain Shiitake mushrooms.

After the show we were hanging out in the hotel watching Adult Swim and in one of their bumps was a Bassnectar song. O.o how did they know!? We finally get some Cowgirl Bebop with an Ed-centric episode Poor Django man and his coffin 'They'll make you see shit' - the premise of this episode Testing the Mushroom, plus they're all hungry of course they'd take it Damn frog should mind his own business, you can't deny Stairway outside of Wayne's World They're everywhere because they built that astral gate together they did! This is probably one of the most hilarious chase scenes out there They lost the bounty and the expensive shrooms, dammit Ed. Some were drugged but some where bust, the hiccup from Ein implies that he got a 'bad mushroom' The other guys chasing Walker survived, you see them after the car explodes Melissa Fahn voices Ed, Watanabe described her as being 'like a cat out of control' and based her off of Pippi Longstocking. Her brother was Rocco in the Waltz for Venus episode.
