You need narrow presser foot or special presser foot to each hard to sew area. It is leather sewing machine, not good for thin fabrics, 2mm saddlery leather or 4mm upholstery leather is ok. Cowboy CB3200 leather sewing machine is mainly designed for saddle maker, harness makers and other leather crafts. Cowboy CB4500 heavy leather stitcher is more powerful machine with longer arm, which can stitch much heavier & rigid saddle leather and bulky products. How thick of your leather?

How thin of leather can you sew on this machine?

it will depend on leather type. For veg. leather, 2mm is ok, for soft upholstery leather, 4mm is minimum.

What's the thread size they are using? Many leather bags manufacturers are using Durkopp Adler 269 or Pfaff 335 triple feed cylinder bed machine for assembling leather bags and shoes. CB3200 is designed for very thick thread (V415), ideal for topstitching decorative seams on leather.
