They are hard to find, but some thing that used to be used, is a coffee soc.The one I found was a tad bit pricey, for what it was, so I made my own. Works good. The bag, made from canvas, has two pull cords so I can tie it shut , it holds around cup-cup.5, so you can use it to make herb tea, or coffee. Don't care for instant coffee.

Cowboy coffee can make even a non coffee lover enjoy a cup. The boiling process does a great job of both extracting maximum flavour, but also somehow it takes away any harsh or bitter flavours and just makes a nice smooth coffee. It's almost counter intuitive to the "primitive" way its made, paring the cowboy method with a French press totally eliminates any worry of grinds in the cup, but really as long as you don't pour too fast, or right to the bottom of the pot, the cool water does a good job at sinking the grinds to the bottom. Another great video as useual, albeit a short one lol Edit, I just realized that somehow this 5yr old video randomly came up, for some reason I thought it was a new video until I noticed the date after posting lol

About 10 years ago I started making my coffee the cowboy way and have never returned to the old machine. Actually, it was the sudden in untimely demise of my last coffee maker that got me to try this method and it produces by far the better cup of coffee, every time. I think the difference is bringing it to a rolling boil for a short while, something other methods dont do as well. No filters either! And when done on the stove top at home only talks me 17 minutes start to finish.

First ,you rocked the hat. A lot of people put on a cowboy hat and honestly look pretty “dorky”. Your hat fits you. Here in central Texas we love our camp coffee. My version is to put the coffee in a filter tied with dental floss or butchers twine and follow the boiling process with no cold water at the end.Cleanup is much easier and you can use a shallow kettle. Mine is a GSI. I like a half to a shot of whiskey, Gentleman Jack is my choice and it takes out the bitterness and gives me a rosier out look on my day after a couple. By the way good lookin girlfriend 😍

Espresso beans, that many grounds, You should have been able to jump back to home, without use of motor vehicle, LOL !! I bet is was potent , LOL. Weird trick, when you put egg shells in after boiling, this helps the grounds settle to bottom of the pot. It works, I dunno why, but it does. That is how the old time cowboys, did it Here in the U.S., many moons ago! I have used this trick, when camping, and only have the old style pot to make coffee in. Be safe friends, Peace , John.

It's funny my great grand mother came to AZ on wagon train before Arizona was a state it was still a territory. She got to meet Wyatt Earp when she was like 6. Any way. That's how she made coffee she swore those filters were poisonous. Lol she was 101 when she passed and I was so glad she introduced me to cowboy coffee before she passed. It's strange having a direct link to such a lost part of bush craft history. Those mountaineers were some of the toughest people and we take for granted our modern conveniences today. Just so you know your show brought me back to a fond memory of one of my great grand parents I actually knew. Thank you. And your girlfriend. Made my day for sure.
