Everything would change the next season with the last picks from the Walker trade like Darren Woodson, Jimmy Smith (who later succeeded with the Jaguars), Robert Jones, Kevin Smith. Then the final piece of the puzzle came in the form a trade in Charles Haley. Haley made the Cowboys a better pass rushing team and it showed from having a middle of the road defense to the next year being #1.
