Maximising the spread coverage , genius idea , all I had was a good eye and made my markers out at the headland on every turn 👍

I watched Casto's review a few days back and he like you seemed positive about the ontrack. I think for the money it looks absolutely on point.

Good video Dan. That’s a great system for spreading 👍

That’s a rather budget device if you don’t mind me saying so. I have used a Kverneland unit with the sensor on the roof for the last two decades. The display is at the top of the main instrument panel and not only has a lightbar but a line to follow, which is particularly useful when the boundry is far from straight. This has worked well but today I would probably buy a Patchwork Black Box unit. However whatever works for you and helps your accuracy, is good. I also spread at 18m and the application rate is always spot on, helped by the variable rate spreader which compensates for forward speed. For most fields I spread at 15kph but steep fields slow me down fairly often

Interesting to see how you/your brother got on with it. I realised last year while doing a short grass, grass field that I couldn’t see where I’d been. I did it this year as well so decided to get sorted!

Interesting technology... savings in fertilizer and time should add up a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Six years ago we got into a light bar system from Outback, but when we ceased planting Cotton and Peanuts to concentrate on marketing only Hay me moved up to Auto- Steer on the New Deere tractors the Crop change over facilitated.... All 4 of the tractors , 2 factory and 2 customer installed ....... all Deere components.......

Fantastic piece of kit. Does what you want to do without the need for section control and any other fancy stuff that can go wrong. Spreader suits the 5712,better turning on the headlands than the bigger 76 tractor. Is it through Bluetooth the pad and the unit talk to each other?

We have the same onTrak unit, still in the box. Please can you tell me if you are using the full size i pad, and how it fixes to the glass.

Shouldn't the lines be overlapping when spreading fertilizer? After all, you spread to the center of the last pass not to the edge. You drive 9 meters apart, not 18?

what do you think of this autoguiding ?

It's not perfect, but good for the cost.

@@CowfarmerDan it is still worth the shot to buy it, is it really 20cm of precision?
@CowfarmerDan2 жыл бұрын
I can't confirm the 20cm accuracy as we've never measured it, but it only provides a line to follow so accuracy always depends on the driver.

How much less fert did you use , than last year on those fields?
