A while ago I said I would make a video of how I set out and roll up slurry pipes to help out anyone starting for the first time.

Tidy system. i remember spreading with a 7610 and malgar 1100. Did the job but these new methods are much more efficient. 👍

Alot easier than tanking all that slurry

You should invest in a compressor to blow the pipes out

Another very interesting video well explained. If you have any ploughing coming up, i wondered if you could perhaps do a tutorial on setting up the plough and how to reset the plough and do the headlands properly where the ends of the furrows are all zig zag. I have seen a vid of someone doing the headland but the soil was like flour so didn't come across well how difficult it was. Many thanks.

Thanks Trevor! I have got ploughing videos coming up but it's already filmed and I've finished for this year now. I'll do it in the spring though.

When u are rolling up the pipes maybe roll them up and then roll them out again to make sure they fit on the reeler tightly. And if the pipe is on corners then do that because if it is on corners then it might be really lose on the reeler Only a suggestion not any hate 👍

Great video!! Does anyone know if this method can be done from a slurry tanker?? Does the slurry tanker pump have enough power to run the same distance as this set up..??

What volume would you put on typically? Does it vary when you're putting it on after silage vs when you're ploughing in etc?

What model is your massey just wondering does it handle the weight of the front reeler and stressing pull of the hose well
@CowfarmerDan5 жыл бұрын
It's a 5712SL. It handles both fine, although in our fields I'm never pulling more than 1 pipe when spreading.

It normally is, this method is used to reduce damage to the ground and its faster

Do you use an engine or tractor driven pump
@CowfarmerDan4 жыл бұрын
It's a tractor driven Doda pump.

What is your flow rate, pressure at pump and pressure at sprayer?
@CowfarmerDan4 жыл бұрын
It's a very basic system and we have no way of measuring, sorry but cant answer your question.

I have a pig farm in North Carolina and Iam looking at getting a small, simple system. Good luck with your farm, dairy farms are tough even in good times.

Have you ever had the pipe come off the side of the reeler and wedge between the frame 🙈
@CowfarmerDan5 жыл бұрын
No, but I've had them cross over the dividers when they have a bit left in them!
