Some non-spoilery advice from someone further into the game: if you ever start to feel like you're getting burnt out or bored, follow the main quest until it lets you leave the first planet! Canto Bight isn't the tutorial planet, Toshara is. It's the Hinterlands all over again. Don't be afraid to leave the Hinterlands! (Toshara is fun but the game opens up so much once interplanetary travel is unlocked)

...huh. The arcade games you can play are literally a cross between the very first 80's SW games (the vector graphics ones) and the minigames from the two KOTOR games - swoop racing and shooting down Sith fighters from the Ebon Hawk's gun turret. Cute little easter egg shoutout.

Don't be scared to do story stuff in Toshara just so you can leave and explore other planets. You can always return to Toshara at any point to explore and collect stuff. The game becomes insanely fun once it opens up imo I spent forever on Toshara though, I thought it was an amazing looking planet

You know, arcade games could actually be used to tell if someone had force sensitivity.. A perfect score would either tell you they spend FAR too much time and credits playing, or that they are able to anticipate the moves. The platforming in this is reminding me a lot of Tomb Raider. That alarm sounds like it's saying "Ow!" There were 10 gonks in that room.

The Empire has tests built into its academy that test for Force sensitivity. I don't think the Force would help you with an arcade game. The way a Force user is able to anticipate things is through sensing over life forms through the Force. It doesn't work as well on droids or... arcade machines.

They go through a lot of effort to make our character seem both skilled and highly incompetent. Its basically two characters, her as use when we play her, and her as herself in cutscenes and she as herself is hopeless.

I think its more that she can walk the walk but not talk the talk. The gameplay is mostly using the skills that she's already developed, the cutscenes are her trying to talk her way into a criminal underworld that she doesn't have a lot of experience with. Its a pretty common trope for a young, skilled but inexperienced character trying to make it in the adult world.

Well he talking Hundreds of Millions and you have no idea what the Dollar to Galactic credit exchange is could be 1 Cred it $100 dollars. A meal could cost like half a credit a hotel room 5 credits etc.

@@AlbertoMartinez765 Han wanted to charge obi wan and Luke 100000 credits to get off Tatooine, it's a small sum of money in a conversation between 4 multiplanet organisations and shows a lack of setting awareness by the writers. That's not getting into the fact that with the fight between the empire and rebels escalating the stability of the imperial credit would be in question.

Yea ok I've figured it out, the reason I don't like Kay is that she is the classic scoundrel/bard archetype who is all confidence and luck with a minimal level of competence, much like Han or Ezio from AC, she's able to talk the talk but not walk the walk and that kind of character generally doesn't become interesting to me until they get emotionally invested into the story and actually start giving a dam about what's going on around them and putting effort in, because before then characters like that a just a hazard to those around them and innocent bystanders.

@@GeneralNaga67 Yea she feels like a teen playing at being a scoundrel, someone who completely doesn't get the gravity of what she's doing that her actions have consequences, the first thing she does after botching a job is running right back home, when she hears her pursuers identifying her. She refuses to work with a crew and yet trusts the crew she's paired up with for a job and just leaves an unknown mechanic to work on the only transport she has on a totally unknown planet. I'm not sure if this is an intentional flawed character that the player can see grow into a competent scoundrel or terrible writing.

I am less and less interested in this game. The stealth seems so barebones and from what I am hearing it is the main thing. We will never get good one anymore until we get the next great immersive sim or the next Kojma game in like 2030.

Even if the game is rated T for Teens, doesn't mean you have to lower your expectations on quality. if anything you should be more upset *about* them not putting good quality into a game aimed at Teens. Especially when that game is costing 70 dollars or more. Because it's like.. We KNOW people older than teens will play this game. And even if they weren't, it isn't okay to overprice a product just cause "ThEy'Re KiD's ThEy DoN'T KnOw BeTtEr" or whatever excuses people are making. Because that's just a scummy thing to do. From what I've seen of Jesse streaming this. The game lacks heavily in Story, character motivation/agenda and makes a lot of poor decisions in regards to gameplay. Like the stealth and the picking up (and subsequent dropping of) weapons off the ground. The game should be like 40 dollars at a 5-6/10 rating And there's nothing wrong to critique that, it's just that people have completely rolled over and will let companies get away with pretty much anything these days.

Yes, obviously I, as many others, would prefer a better product even if it's for kids, but we are long past the days of mainstream media treating it's consumers as competent, i'm not saying that it's good, I'm merely acknowledging the truth of the situation. It's arguably silly to go into a ubisoft published, t rated, modern Disney star wars game and expect it to be well written. At this point, anything better than rise of Skywalker is an improvement for the IP. Star wars hasn't seen good writing (mainstream wise) since Mandalorian S1. I also never said anything about cost, so I have no idea where that came from. It really feels like you're taking a general pet peeve you have and chose to unleash it on me for some reason. Also, if you know anything about mainstream gaming, you'd know that critiquing a AAA game almost always falls on deaf ears. The sad reality is the product is made for money beyond any sense of quality or passion, so you should be appreciative when there is a semblance of passion or care for the source material. The world you want for gaming just won't happen, no matter how much people bitch and whine and boycott, the big names will always sell and big companies rarely listen to those who want the product to be better. And yeah, no shit, I think everyone would like if it was 40 dollars but we live in a world where the economy is only getting more shit and prices are only getting higher so don't be surprised or offended when a new game in a major IP comes out and it's full price
