That's it AA, some really solid fixer uppers amongst them. Good choice, big place...I'd be super happy with the rock feature granny flat alone.

Sure would Joe! I'm a sucker for some stained glass. Yep, so many nice features and value amongst all that. Can only hope they salvaged as much as possible, but those piles of already demolished rubble show just how much will go to the tip.

@@urbexgecko Hey mate , yeah , it's happening here as well , bloody awful hi density cookie cutters going up everywhere here as well on property's that were single homes on a quarter acre section , another thing I think is it's sad , in 50 or 100 years time there will be no historical buildings left as the keep bowling them every 20 years , I was gobsmacked by what you shared with us , enjoy the vids mate keep it up 😁👍

Crazy to think this is happening everywhere, paints a very bleak picture for the future. Exactly, I remember when heritage preservation was of utmost importance and things were built to last a century.

I love what you're doing. Capturing some of these parts within the places that we know that otherwise would be lost forever because no one saw the value in bothering to do it. Without your effort so much could be just lost to history with no record at all.

Been binging on your vids for 3 days, loving them so much. Sad to see so many abandoned places that were once peoples pride and joy. Glad you dont feel the need to destroy anything during your visits even though they dont have much time left. I`d take the one in the dead end street i think. Just been checking google earth street view when they were in happier times 🙂

That's awesome man, apologise for some of my older videos...takes a lot of willpower to not delete them 😂 yeah, just imagine ALL the memories and stories. Nah, can't relate to people who smash up places in the slightest...all about the explore. The very first one in the dead end street? Haha, I did the same thing...before and afters are always a major spin out.

Ive explored some big houses on the main road, but never got to go into these blocks before they were demolished. I did walk up and down those streets, sussing out the houses, and was devo I missed out. Thanks for satisfying a curiosity i thought was lost forever. Edit: I agree with the rule of urban explorers not taking things or destroying abandoned places, but in cases like these, if you see something cool, take it. Its not stealing, its preserving or rescuing. I work driving a van past these places, and Ive stopped to look at the rubble, its full of stained glass windows, mature trees, the wood floors, the stonework was all destroyed. I intended to go back to save some of those old windows, dig up some plants, grab anything that shouldnt become landfill.

Must've been weird seeing them on this video, then walking around there and seeing it now. Yeah, lazy demo crew will just flatten it all as a whole. There are places out there that take the time to disassemble them carefully, and resell.

Unreal hey lil' dude, hope you get to explore something similar one day...you'd have an absolute blast! Yep, narrowed it down to the stuff I really liked and still couldn't get it under an hour haha. The worst part was the 6 hour render times, and having to watch the whole thing over and over again to iron things out. There ended up being 6 renders before I was happy with this final edit 😫 the joys of content creation hey man haha.

Very cool exploration, it is unbelivable that these houses are just sitting there! Also a technical question, I assume that you are using a headmount for your camera? I also would like to try head or chest mount for our next abandoned exploration trip, as currently I am holding my camera while exploring and that makes things a bit difficult sometimes.
@urbexgecko
@urbexgecko Жыл бұрын
Yeah, headmount all the way...just chuck it on and forget it is there. Frees your hands up for the explore. Cons are it's not as steady, and you will find the footage to be a bit more irratic as you're constantly looking around. Chest mount will give you more linear, steadier footage, but I personally don't like the lower obstructed viewing angle and it's still somewhat inconvenient.

@urbexgecko
@urbexgecko Жыл бұрын
Not gonna lie man, takes some time to get established but totally worth it in the long run. Start off by researching online, Google will give you some well known spots to ease into it. Instagram is perfect as a lot of people share locations (or at least hints) on there and If you gain the trust of others, you can work together. Share your explores on there to get recognised and become involved with the community. KZbin videos will also often have clues/locations. Also train yourself to look for bando's whenever you're out and about, it'll become second nature eventually. The way you worded your question is perfect also, you'll turn people off if you outright demand locations. Be safe, and enjoy 🙂
